Ok. Here we can speculate about new parodies on the new album. Do it in this topic so it can be central without opening hundreds of topics :)

Okay here are my predictions for the bands that AL will parody.

Eminem (w/ a music Video)

Good Charlotte (w/ music video)

Avril Lavigne

Linkin Park

Dave Matthews

I think if theres a style parody i tihnk it will be of Radiohead. (BTW..radiohead rocks!)

Check the date on his post.

Oh, those crazy Al fans.
Oh, ha ha. I'm in USA so when i read that it was march 31...

I'm thinking Good Charlotte, Sum 41, Linkin Park, Avril Lavigne, Eminem (maybe...), and Nelly are almost sure bets, cuz they're the biggest thing out now- their tours are selling out, and since CD sales don't really seem accurate anymore (now it's downloads) for the opinion of the public- I'll go with the tour seller-outers. If seller-outers is a word.

LET'S GET THE POODLE HAT TOUR SOLD OUT!!!!!!!!

AND POODLE HAT THE ALBUM TOO!!!!!!!!!!
Work, is play. Tofutti break today.

Secrets...of...the Universe.

Let's take a look at what's been popular this past year...

There was that whole "return of garage rock" thing, involving The Strokes, The Hives, The Vines and The White Stripes. That was considered to be a pretty big deal (especially since, from what I understand, The Strokes were named 2002's Band Of The Year according to Spin magazine).

Between the uprising of Sum 41, Good Charlotte, Unwritten Law and the like, pop/punk has become more popular, mainstream-wise, than it's ever really been.

And, of course, there's Eminem. I hear he's somewhat popular these days.

I'd like to see some sort of take on Dave Matthews Band, since they've had a consistently huge following since their debut. However, I doubt Al would do a DMB parody, on the sole basis that not many DMB songs have a lot of words, and are more musically-weighty than lyrically.

Or maybe, Al might just decide to shock everyone and parody Falco. I certainly don't know.

Yes, Garage Rock was big- even though the Strokes and the Hives are the most overrated of the bunch. VINES and WHITE STRIPES!

I really hope he doesn't do country RAP- Df Dub Country Girl stunk real bad.

We do know this much. Al is doing a White Stripes parody called "Fell in Love with a Squirrel"

ACKKK!!!!

Don't do that :) I almost fell out of my tree when I saw that!

My little heart was going "ta-pocka, ta-pocka, ta-pocka," until I almost

had an attack of coreoposis.

(I think I just heard James Thurber roll over in his grave after that reference.)

Still, I think it sounds like a perfect song! :bigups:

I'd love to see a parody of Nirvana's "You Know You're Right" or any Donnas song.
I'm ranking every Beatles song on my new pop culture blog. Check it out!

Ok... so what we don't know from the April Fool's gag...

We still don't know if it is the Album being released on 5/20. After all it was a joke, right?

We don't know if they have gotten back to the studio yet... Hmmm. Maybe we do know that. Just looking at the links for the pics Bermuda put up, they are dated 21st (with Al wearing the Hawaiian shirt) and the 31st with Al wearing the grey t-shirt (which is what yesterday's pic had too, and also dated on 3/31.) SO, I think it's safe to say that they are at least back at work.

My head hurts again...
