Hey, Weezer let Al include "Beverly Hills" in "Polkarama!" ten years later. They didn't seem to object too loudly to Al releasing JUST the Buddy Holly segment three years after that. I don't see any reason why this CAN'T be included if Al asks them nicely and they accept.

That, plus the air raid sirens in the bridge/coda have been removed entirely.

I just had to wonder aloud about this since WE know Al is not one to record any entire new songs without releasing them or telling anyone about it. Unless Al does in fact record a brand new song just for this rarities disc, I have a hard time believing that we will be hearing anything that unheard by our collective ears.

The contents of the bonus disc will determine whether this is a "gotta have it day one" purchase or something I can wait to get my hands on.
Same. I love digital copies of stuff and use them often (doesn't matter if books, video, or music), but I still love having the physical copy. And yeah, depending on the release date and how limited this is, might wait a bit for a better price, coupon, or such.

I wouldn't worry too much. You'll definitely be able to import it if it's only released in the US or North America. Might cost you a bit, but you can get ahold of it, I'm sure.

I'm gonna be crucified for saying this, but a part of me is dreading this release, as I already know I want the vinyl copies for my collection (and in the off chance I ever get a turntable like I've wanted for years) and the CDs so I can listen to them on the go and rip them in lossless...and it's gonna cost a LOT to buy these...*sigh*

Why would you catch hell for saying something like that? We all have different budgets and buying or not buying something, attending all / just one / no concerts on a tour, and so on doesn't make you less of a fan or less liked here.

If I were you, I think I'd buy the CD version first. That way you can listen to them on the go and rip them to a lossless format. Even if the vinyl ends up including a free digital download code, I don't think they include any lossless options. I may be wrong, though.

Turntables are very affordable, some as cheap as $20-30, and if you spend a little more, there are even some that audiophiles would say are an excellent choice that doesn't break the bank (no need to buy a $500-several thousand model; I remember reading a great article about this).

If the set does include a digital download code and high quality but not lossless isn't a dealbreaker, then you could probably buy the vinyl set first.

No matter what, don't feel badly about saying what you did, and I hope you figure out something that will make you happy with these releases. They will be expensive, but worth it, I believe.

Well as Bermuda said, the vinyl set is going to be limited release...so I'm probably going to buy that first so I don't miss out on my chance.

Forgot about that. In that case, definitely go for the vinyl. Either way, I think this release is going to be excellent. :)

That's a perfectly valid and acceptable reason to dread it, though. I kind of feel the same, really. Thinking about getting the vinyls even though I don't have a turntable but the shipping on a box of that kind of weight will be hell.
Love and peace.

Probably. Still, there are things that places like Amazon won't ship overseas, I've come across them. But I'm sure there will be a way.

I know what you mean. LEGO sets are one of them. Amazon US won't ship those internationally. All else fails, I'll bet some smaller music shops or eBay will ship anywhere.
