Al and the band performed two songs: CNR and WBYL (in that order, with CNR about halfway through the show and WBYL at the very end). The show opening had Al cranking up the "Weirdness" level on an amplifier, which I thought was pretty cool! He joked for a couple of minutes off the top like you would expect a host to do. My favorite line was, “My parents decided to give me accordion lessons when I was very young. I remember thinking why couldn’t I have just been spanked like the other children?”
He introduced 5 different acts over the course of the show and wore a Hawaiian shirt and frameless glasses as the host, but changed for CNR and WBYL (he kept his glasses on and left his hair down for WBYL, but his glasses were off for CNR and he was without a hat and jacket as well). I thought WBYL came out great! The camera angles were interesting and close-up and I noticed a lot of detail! However, I thought the vocal mic was a bit wonky for CNR (or at least how it sounded on my TV), so I'm really glad we've got the DVD version for that song (which I already specifically raved about in another thread!)
Al closed the show by essentially thanking himself for being so awesome. And... that's all I can think to say!
