Well I guess that's why Ryan is saying he should do all of them.

Ok I'm going too. Bought two tickets this morning and now I have to find someone to go with me. I thought my only Al fix for the year would be the UHF love fest a couple of months ago at the Paramount, so this was a very pleasant surprise!

I'm still thinking it would be really cool if Al or Kimo would do SXSW in March. Well, one can hope!

I just took a quick look at the SXSW site and I'd say Steve Jay would be a good fit too. Like Kimo, he's an experienced film composer and his solo music is fascinating and challenging to listen to.

Gotta say, even though Weird Al fans are notorious for not paying much attention to popular music, I cannot believe there isn't more excitement about this.

Does no one here like any of the following bands: The Appleseed Cast, Bad Religion, Cap'n Jazz, Deerhunter, Devo, Dirty Projectors, The Hold Steady, Mastadon, MGMT, RJD2, Slick Rick, The Vandals, Wavves...

Anyone? Anyone??? Wow. :lame:

It'd be cool to see Devo, especially if they were anywhere near Dare To Be Stupid.

I know of a few of the other bands, but don't care enough to totally seek out a flight and pay for the whole weekend.

Hm... I'm really looking forward to seeing what I can catch while I'm there.

I sincerely hope I can see Devo. I've always wanted to catch them live. There were quite a few other bands I was looking forward to as well. Hopefully I get to see a good share of them on the first day.

Also, even considering this is very unlikely, there is a possibility Al could hang out there for a while. He won't quite be "on tour" or very busy unless he just wants to go home quickly. I guess we'll have to wait and see...

It's not as if the other bands are playing their sets in between Al songs. Al is playing on Friday night and seems to have that night all to himself. All of the rest of the bands are playing either Saturday or Sunday.

Where did you find the list of when and where all the bands are playing?

I haven't been able to find it online and it's probably because of how sick I am right now.
