I don't see why, in today's schools especially, a sweatshirt "making fun" of its OWNER would be offensive to others.
If anything, you'd get beat up for it because they think it's stupid/uncool- not because they are offended by it.

Some people might not understand that "white and nerdy" is the opposite of "black and cool"
Some people might get the above mentioned joke, and become offended because it implies that: A. White people can't be cool, or B. Nerds can't be cool.
All of which, IMO, is a stupid thing to get offended by, but some people are much more sensitive than I am.

Yes, and I liked what Kristine said, too. I know the reason I wear my White and Nerdy hoodie is to declare my white and nerdiness to the world. So, how could anyone get offended by a shirt that makes fun of the person wearing it?
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:
"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11
So awesome!

I wore my W&N hoodie for Halloween and everybody that saw it, thought it was funny even though I'm sure a large portion of them didn't get the Al reference. I even had a black guy come up to me that night dressed as Flava Flav who said he loved my "white and nerdy gangsta" outfit so I don't think anyone would be offended. If they are, they're just overly sensitive and/or way too politically correct.
