I got home sunday morning local time from my holiday (with no jetlag). I was leaving LA saturday around 8.35 am. I had to land in Dallas Forth Worth. First I feared to miss the connection flight, because when I arrived in JFK when I came, I had only 1 h 35 for changing the plane. And I had to pick the up the luggage and check in again (because it was an international flight). And there was a long line at the check in. And they didn't care, that they where some transit passangers arround I heard someone telling. In my opinon, the could have served those one first. But everything got right. DFW was a national flight so had just go to the other terminal with SkyLink. It arrived at Gate D24 and my gate was 25. Just a couple steps to walk.

I don't have a laptop, so I had to look for some places where I can use internet. I had my hotel downtown and the nearest internet station was in the central library. But there was only 15 minuntes, well much better than nothing and it was free. I didn't want to log in for such a short time, since I got a CPU quota error message (I wanted to avoid being logged in while getting this message again). So here is my late story, which you already most know. :D

All 5 five shows where just amazing. It was nice meeting all the wowayers. I think I forgot to say goodbye to Squirrelgirl and Kristine, I didn't see them see anymore. :sorry: and for the all the others I missed, I guess there was Barney Slayer and someone with him, and I guess missed Jon too.

On the 3rd show I could meet Al and the others backstage. Cid told me, that Jay wanted to see me. So after the concert we got to the fence, where others where waiting. But the security staff told that everyone had to leave who didn't have backage pass. Cid was getting nervous (me too, first I thought I was dreaming, I couldn't believe it, it was only my third concert). I guess it was last-minute-show-up by Jay, so we could get backstage. Cid introduced to me to me bandmembers and Jay , Ruben said something that he would back in a moment, but he didn't come back. But at least I got pictures from the others and I got Al sign the concert ticket and a Yankovic-Dollar, as well as one from Jon, and I got a singature from Jim as well. In my excitement, I forgot Steve to sign me something. But I'm happy from that what I have. So thank you very much to Cid and jay and everyone other involved.

Thanks also for Diva making the name tags. Although I forgot to pm or mail her, she maid me one too. Thanks for that. And also Tonya for that Al cookbook.

During my stay in LA I went to Amoeba music store twice. The second time I asked the guy at the desk for some Yankovic vynyl's. Wanna know what he asked? He asked: "From the father or the son? " " I just said Al, although I really wanted to say, that Frankie wasn't his father. The only had two, In3-D and dare to be stupid. Wish I have gone back again. Found some good vynyl's there. Amazing shop. But 2 is better than none. Again some other Al stuff to my collection.

I guess I forgot the half of the story, but I can write this later. |) I will also put on some pictures. Monday evening or so.

So that's all for know, getting tired a bit (local time is 0.35 am)

Kristine, I'm glad you wound up feeling better that day. Turned out to be an awesome one! I'm so glad you got to see Nina during two special moments. I'm also very happy that Christina got backstage. How nice of Suzanne, and Nina's swim teacher, to make that possible. I hope that I might get to meet Nina someday. I'll bet she is just precious.

Jeannine, so happy for you! I'm glad you got to meet Al and the guys. How nice of Jay to do that for you. I'm glad you enjoyed your time in the U.S. Maybe next time, you can visit the midwest, and I can meet you.

:D
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

Two fantastic reviews! Awww, Nina sounds so incredibly cute, Kristine! I'm also glad you felt better, concerts are always bad when you're ill. Jeannie, I am so happy to meet you and I'll glad you got to go backstage. Sounds you both had a blast!

No problem, its nice of you all to read them. :) Pictures from before the concert and me with some concert 'swag' are posted in the photo topic, I didn't think it was necessary to post them here as well.

July 18th!

Just click on the sub-album called oc fair july 18.

These are the pictures that I decided to put up of the July 18th show since that's the day I flew in. Some pictures are blah, some dark, some good, etc. These are the ones that I decided to put up.

I'm still working on the other days. It's gonna take longer than expected as I have to resize each one since for some reason my photoshop won't let me do it as a gropu like I've heard other people doing it. I'm also working and other such things to take up my time. Gah.

Man, this is gonna take forever. I'll probably get done by the time I go to Kansas City.

Doing things as a group is a bit complicated- you have to write an Action for it. Actions are great once you learn it... but it's not easy to learn.

NIGHT FIVE 7/21/07

You know the saying “Save the best for last”? Well, that’s not the case for the OC Fair concerts. Haha. I left my house at about the same time as the other nights, and I was making good time on the 405-N… until I got close to the 55-S ramp. Oh MAN! It was stop and go, bumper to bumper, for a mile before the ramp, then it was kinda slow going on the 55-S, and then it was back to a couple miles of bumper to bumper at Fair Dr. It took an extra hour and 20 minutes to get into the fairgrounds! Normally, it takes about 25 minutes from my house to the fair. The traffic was insane!! Unfortunately, this was also the night I had the extra ticket for Jon. He managed to get to the fair about an hour before I did. It was getting really close to 8:00pm, and both of us were getting worried. So, once I got onto Fair Dr, I had him jog out to find my car (it was still stop and go waiting and waiting to get into the parking lot). He hopped in, got his ticket, and ran for the arena. Fortunately, he didn’t have to miss any of the concert. I, however, was a different story. I finally parked at about 8:10pm at the Green Gate. But I still had to go to the Blue Gate to pick up my aftershow pass! I started walking towards the gates, when I saw a few guys standing around with golf carts. I approached them and told them if someone would give me a ride to the Blue Gate, I’d give them $10. So, one of the guys did. That saved me some major time and energy- it was worth the money. I walked up to the will call booth, and expected to go through the same thing I did all the other nights- tell them I had an aftershow pass for the Al concert, show them my ID, sign for it, and be on my way. Noooo, of course not. Not today. She looked and looked for what seemed like forever (why is it that when you’re in a hurry, time seems to go slower?). Nope. Nothing. I told her I was on Jim West’s guest list. She said a couple of people already had this problem today. Great. So, frustrated, I got into the fairgrounds and RAN. It was now about 8:25pm. I finally got to the arena during the beginning of Canadian Idiot. I found my seat, said hi to Jon, and settled in for the evening. The concert started out great, like all the others. But remember what I said earlier? About midway through the concert is when it all started. The video screen cut out. I could see three people with flashlights in the booth trying to figure it all out. Dave can probably give you all the details of what went wrong when. After one of the songs was over, there was a big ugly pause of nothingness- no video or audio. So, for most of the costume change, we just sat there. Then they managed to get the center screen working. So, at least we had something. For WSD, we got about 5 seconds of video, and then the rest was just audio. Not only was the video having issues, but Al’s monitor wasn’t working right, either. I can’t remember what song it started on, but he kept touching them, probably trying to change the volume or signaling to the audio booth something was wrong. Finally, during a couple of songs, he would give up and just pull out the right side and listen live. Hey, it’s better than nothing. Those monitors are designed to double as ear plugs- so if there is no audio coming out of them, you can’t really hear much else. During Eat It, they seemed to be fixed, but they weren’t, but at least Al’s voice wasn’t as shot-sounding. That was another thing, too. Five nights in a row has taken a toll on his voice- especially in his upper range. You’re Pitiful was a bit painful. At the beginning of Nirvana, I think the monitor was working TOO well! He winced, and gestured to Ruben to turn it down. Towards the end of the concert, everything was pretty much back to normal. This was a WDTAH night, which I found ironic. After the show, since I didn’t have a pass, I had to sit at the gate for the backstage area and wait around until I saw someone to flag down. Jim walked past and gestured to me “Just a minute”. Bermuda came over to talk to people, and he remembered me and told me he would go find Jim. But, before he had a chance to Jim came back over. Bermuda said something to the effect of that he was so good, he called him over with his mind, or something like that. So, Jim let me, his other friend, and Jon through the gate. Once we were backstage, Jon got in the line to meet Al, and I hung around kinda doing nothing. Which is fine- I like just hanging around people watching. Jay had pulled back a few woway members- Dave, Melissa, and sorry I can’t remember who else. So, I hung out with those guys while they were waiting in line to meet Al. Jim had a lot of friends there tonight, many of which somehow didn’t get passes (like me). Two people that I didn’t actually meet or talk with, but I saw, were Jim and Bermuda’s wives. Diana, like everyone else, was busy talking to other people, so I didn’t get a chance to say hi. I didn’t see Suzanne or Nina- there were so many “unknown” people back there (random fans)- so if they were there, they probably just stayed on the tour bus the whole night. At the end of the night, I got one more picture with Jim, and headed home. I’m sad that it’s all over now. I was just starting to get used to the routine. I already miss hanging out backstage with Jim- it was a lot of fun, even when I wasn’t doing anything. So many memories from this week- this was definitely the highlight of my summer. I still have one more show I’m going to- Monterey in October. That will be my first indoor concert. I can’t wait!

Oh, it's not the actions things. I know how to do that...but for some reason that I'm told there's a resize action...and my photoshop doesn't have that for some reason. It's strange.

Oh well, I'm doing it one at a time.

Nice review for the last night! That sucks they were having issues with the backstage passes.

Yeah...parking that night was horrible.

Jay let our party backstage Saturday night to present Weird Al Star Fund merchandise to Al, Jay and TBITB. We do that every now and then. Suzanne and Nina were there, but understandable you didn't see them in that crowd.
