Al And Mad

Is AL-TV returning or did you find a nice interview? Just tell the folks here.

Does anyone know if the content in the Australian Mad is the same as the US version?
The tsunami of immediacy will wash away the flood of grief, and reveal a layer of naive optimism underneath

What month's issue is that?
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

I didn't see that. Bill must be stealing my copies of MAD.

I only have a few issues of Mad magazine, and a few mad books, including mad About TV, which featured an introduction by Al, and I haven't really seen any of Mad's pieces featuring Al. Though I once saw a website that scanned a two-question interview with Al that was in Mad Magazine. And I've heard about Mad's article where Al supposedly wrote a parody called Pretty Fly for a Dead Guy.

I haven't read everyu page in this thread, so forgive me if this has been discussed already, but has anybody here ever seen the Uncle Nutzy article which inspired the character of the same name in UHF? Was he just a one-shot character in the magazine? What was that article like?

I've read Uncle Nutzy. It's in Mad About the Sixties. It's pretty funny. Basically it's a parody or the children shows of the time, like Captain Kangaroo. It's very funny, and totally worth getting the book for. I think it's 10 dollars for the digest sized copy. I have the larger one, though. And I'm pretty sure he never reappeared.

I'm sure that to the degree Al actually IS weird in his private life, Suzanne supports him in the effort. :D

Gotta look for that Mad... if it's not only Aussie.
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

I'll look for that too, all the Al sightings in MAD over the years has got me interested in subscribing.
