Yeah, I saw found that somewhere earlier. That makes me a lot happier than having to pay even more for fair admission.

Sweet! Sure, it's only a little bit of money, but if it's free it'll be better.

You'd better start persuading him to drive to Costa Mesa, 'cause that's where the concerts are! :P

Hey all, new to the board, but not a new Al fan (he's just the most amazingly genius musician out there; so good he brings tears to my eyes!). Great to see all the other Al fans here too!

So wanted to offer this (hopefully) helpful bit of info:
I was totally excited by the thought of getting backstage passes to an Al concert so I called up the OC Fair people to ask what the deal with them was (and if they cost more, were better seats, etc). I was informed that that was just the name for the OC Fair presale tickets for this concert on Ticketmaster! So as Elvis suggested, the OCFEC Backstage Passes are NOT in any way/form real backstage passes, and they never were intended to be that. I know, it's totally disingenuous, and really confusing, but what are you going to do?!

-----
Question/Request:
That having been said, I'm still sobbing at missing the first/real presale on weirdal.com *sigh*, and hoping that the Ticketmaster presale tomorrow still has some good seats. Now, I have the password for Ticketmaster from the OC Fair people (sent in a newsletter to my roommate; if anyone wants to try and get in on that just ask and I can post the password) but part of the reason for posting here was to see if anyone knew what the Tickermaster password for the slightly earlier presale at NINE AM was: the "early bird presale" on their site?!

I've been googling for like 2+ hours now (that's how I found this board, the blog on yankovic.org, the presale through weirdal.com that I missed *sob again*, and a bunch of other wonderful Al sites), but not a single one that mentions anything about the early bird presale on TM and how to get in on that! There's sites that sell presale codes, but the ironic thing is that their code/password is for the 10am presale, which is just the one through the OC Fair, which I already have the password for! :P

Anyway, if all I get is the OC Fair presale then that's ok--it's still well before the general onsale Sat morning, but it'd sure be nice to try and get in on that 9am one, right? And maybe some of those section 2 B/D row tickets are in there; that'd be even nicer!

End:
Other than that, let me just say that it's nice to find a fellow group of Al fans; I guess I'm slow and never thought to look online (I know, I know; I have been busy with lots of other stuff tho)--he really is just about my favorite musician and I love his music and have almost all his CDs and box sets and recently bought all his videos and stuff they have on amazon.com. If nothing else, maybe I can print out one of the nametags and say hi when I see you guys at the Fair!

Well that's it, but if anyone has any info on the 9am presale, feel free to post it here or maybe even just email me directly at [email protected]. Take care all, and thanks so much for being Al fans too! It just gives me a warm fuzzy to know you're out here! :)

P.S. And fwiw, if there are people who need rides from LA (I live in West LA near the 405 and Santa Monica Blvd) I'm probably just driving down for a couple of the nights, so if needed, maybe we can arrange a carpool or something?

I was thinking of ALPOTO (who can't go otherwise) or anyone else that might want to carpool from here to avoid traffic by getting to use the carpool lane; there might be a bunch of my friends going too, but we can probably figure *something* out. Email me directly at the address above if you're interested and we can see. HTH; take care all!

Welcome to the board and thanks for the whole driving offer, but I'm not sure my mom would be okay in me getting a ride with someone I don't know personally. The password for the Early Bird is WAYEB. I think you have to be registered to buy it, but that is the email I got. The Saturday one is WAYCB. If I wasn't supposed to post that, I can edit it out pr the mods can. Sorry if I wasn't supposed to, I just wanted to help my fellow Al fans.

Hey ALPOTO, thanks for the code! If you don't mind me asking, who sent you the email with that code in it? Was it from Ticketmaster? If so, that's weird, as I've been registered with Ticketmaster for years and I don't think I got any sort of email like that. Do you have to do something (select something; fill out some surbey or the like?) with them to get emails with those presale codes?! The irony is that they're one of my customers, so you'd think I'd know all about that! :P

And if the email isn't from TM, then who do you have to register with/what do you have to do to get those emails (as I'd love to do that!)? If you don't mind sharing the info that is...

And as far as the rides go, no problem; I was offering in general too, so if people wanted to arrange carpools to avoid the nastiness of the 405S, I figure that's a good thing! Sorry you can't go otherwise; that's just gotta be painful! But maybe if there's a group of people from the board going or someone else you know going and you can go with them...just throwing out some options to help you get down there!

Oh yeah--there is a train that goes from like downtown to Irvine and stuff--I've never taken it, but have been told about it--anyone know anything about that and how well that could work? Heh, depending on the details I might even consider that myself, as that would be a nice way to avoid the pain of 405 traffic!

But in any case, thanks again for sharing the codes; that's totally awesome of you! :) Al rules! And Al fans rule too! :):)

Sign up for the Newsletter thing on the OC fair's website. They'll send you e-mails with updates about Al and other stuff going on in the OC Fair...that's at least where I got the code...

You know, they really should change the name of the Backstage Pass newsletter. I think it gets people's hopes up in thinking that they're actually buying a backstage pass instead of a pre-sale ticket.

love ALWAYs

That's where I got it. No problem posting it, I always like to help. You're right, my mom not taking me does kinda suck. My friend's gonna ask her mom if she can take us. If not, thanks for the ideas! :D
