Looks like Almost Al considers puns the lowest form of humor, which is an odd characteristic for an Al fan.

I wasn't thinking of prostitution, though, but more along the lines of
2 a : tawdrily and falsely attractive
b : superficially significant : PRETENTIOUS
I first met that word thanks to Sherlock Holmes-- and I think it may have been in 8th grade.
If, after doing so, one simply knocks out all the central inferences and presents one's audience with the starting-point and the conclusion, one may produce a startling, though possibly a meretricious, effect.
