I'll be at this show. Another one in the northeast chase for this tour.

Well I'm glad I met Al the last time he was here in '07, since I obviously won't be meeting him here now

Anyways, Al is coming back to Connecticut, the city where I live none the less. My wish has been fulfilled, so at least I can shut up about it. Just watch yourself, the Palace theater is in a sketchy neighborhood of a really sketchy city. Waterbury certainly isn't Hartford or Bridgeport or New Haven as far as places you don't want to be after dark, but you definitely don't want to veer away from the block where the Palace is.

Why would you not see him at this show? And yeah, at least, you can stop whining now.

Fantastic show tonight, my seats were phenomenal, literally second row off the stage, and the seat right in front of me was empty, so I got some awesome photos I'll upload later. Everything about the show tonight top to bottom was great, it was the same show he's been playing up and down the horn, but it was awesome. This was my first time hearing stuff from Alpocalypse live, and most of it definitely works better live, I still stand by my opinion that the album as a whole, while good musically, was weak overall. He played all the classics, although I think Smells Like Nirvana may be getting a bit long in the tooth, and I'd love to see it replaced and have Like a Surgeon or Dare To Be Stupid rotated back in permanently. I got pretty wet during Nirvana though, my Girlfriend and I were right in the line of fire when he tossed the water into the crowd.Lots of people at this show, although it's a small venue, but it was hardly sold out. It was a hot crowd, and we have a lot of enthusiastic Al fans here in CT, many of whom go back decades given that Al has a long history here, back to the very beginning of his career when Toads Place in New Haven was always a regular stop. This was also my fiance's first Al show, and she loved it.

As best as I could tell there was no meet and greet after the show. The building security was shuffling people along and the bus was positioned right near the door in such a way that it seemed as though Al and the band wanted to escape the building and bounce ASAP. Usually I see Jim and John milling around the venue prior to and after the show, but I didn't see anyone this time around. I could be wrong however, I didn't stick around because my buddy had to go home, so it's possible he stopped by to say hi quickly after everyone had gone. It is the last date on this leg of the tour, so it's possible they might have had a late flight home tonight or an early one tomorrow and just wanted to leave as quick as possible. Regardless, I didn't mind, I met him here in '07, so no big deal.

Yep. Al did You Make Me tonight. The coffee shop was Dunkin' Donuts on Bank Street. It was neat to see a combo of the vertical and diagonal light strips. First time I had seen that. Created some unique effects. There was a line flub in Lovr. Nothing major. Really strong crowd reactions, and fun night. Good end to a great tour leg.

Oddly enough, despite having been from Waterbury my whole life, I've never been to the Dunkin Donuts on Bank St, there's no parking and it's in a neighborhood where you don't really want to exit your car unless you really have to. Unless he was referring to the other Dunkin Donuts on Bank Street which is attached to the Home Depot and barely has enough space for two people to stand. We have way too many Dunkin Donuts' here in CT.
