This thread is for discussion of your recommendation for the best Weird Al songs to listen to in various situations.

For example, when I run at the gym I let my iPod go on shuffle and I end up skipping half the songs that come up because they aren't really running songs. So I wanted to ask around to see what others thought were the best songs for working out to.

Songs that always do the trick for me are:
any polka
Hardware Store
Mr Popiel (the live version from Wolfgang's Vault)
White & Nerdy

Any other suggestions for working out?

And you can see how, once that well runs dry, this topic can apply to any number of other life situations.

For me, jogging to "The Hot Rocks Polka" (or any polka) is good, along with "Canadian Idiot", "Pretty Fly For a Rabbi" and/or any other rock original or parody.

In addition to the ones already mentioned... "You Make Me" and "Trigger Happy"...

Cool idea for a topic, Jon. :Y

One of my online friends, Megan, came up with a workout routine that goes along with WAY Live. I still have it somewhere, all printed up with instructions as to what to do for each song. That's a 90 minute workout, kids, so I usually split it into two 45 minute ones, and do it in 2 days. I think Pentiums is the last song on day one. I still follow the stretching instructions on day one, and then start back on day two with Germs. I haven't done that workout in a looong time, but it's quite fun.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

Patti if you find that, I'd be interested in a copy.

Songs I don't skip on my ipod while at the gym, that have not already been mentioned:

Pentiums
Midnight Star

I like WDTAHTM on the coolout

If you guys don't think "Your Horoscope for Today" is a jogging/running/exercising song, then I've lost all faith in humanity :P

I can't not be running when DTBS comes on. That song fills me with so much energy I often have trouble dispersing it in a proper fashion.

YHFT, Eat It, Dog Eat Dog, Hardware Store, I'll Sue Ya, IAATP, and Trigger Happy are probably my favorite songs to work out to.

Pretty much all the songs you've mentioned thus far I have run to.

Here's another great one - the Food Medley (I have the Wolfgang's Vault show on my iPod).

Here are a few more I like:
Bedrock Anthem, Traffic Jam (a song I really don't like except for running!), Everything You Know Is Wrong, Eat It, The Brady Bunch, I Remember Larry, When I Was Your Age, Trash Day, Pretty Fly For A Rabbi, Jerry Springer, Horoscope (I know it's been mentioned, but GREAT one for this), and Fun Zone.

One I would avoid: Living With A Hernia ;)
