08/15/08 San Mateo, CA: San Mateo Fair

Tickets have just gone on sale for this concert. I chose not to go through Artist Arena (I don't like them and avoid them if I can) because there is no reason to. You can get the tickets at the fair's website:

There is free concert seating, as most fairs have, and then there is a Gold Circle general admission ticket that gets you into a preferred seating area for $20 + $2 per ticket service charge, and this price includes admission to the fair. Finally an affordable one--One of the few good concert ticket deals left!

I decided I needed one more Al show, and since I wll be going to Monterey on Saturday anyway, I'm going to play hooky from work on Friday *cough* [actually, I've got plenty of unused personal days so don't anyone go snitching to the Governator

] and go to this one too. I can change my Jet Blue ticket from San Jose to Oakland and still pile up my frequent flyer miles. Gotta get my Al while I can, life is short.

I'm changing my airfare... and am coming to this show

My dad cancelled on me at the end of August, so now i have extra vacation days to use.. so I'm flying in on thursday night instead now, and hitting up this show..since its like 30 minutes from my hotel in San Jose :-D

So I guess I'll be seeing you guys there.. I got the Gold Circle ticket.. $20 what the heck!

I'll be there with my 2 sons, my niece, my cousin and her husband and son, and various friends from high school.

Also, my Dad will be with us. It's his first Al concert--I hope he'll like it. He's got a good sense of humor, so if I sit him down in front of YouTube to get him familiar with some of Al's parodies (and their originals), I think he'll be fine. I did have to correct him when he said he remembers Al's brother, Frankie.

I'm going to be getting to San Jose on 8/14 at Noon-thirty.. so I'll have lots of time to play around in the area and see and do things.

Any recommendations????

Oh I should add, Alcatraz is already on the list...

I'm meeting an ex-Al Gal for Lunch, well she probably still is, but she doesn't post anymore.. on Thursday soon after I get there.. but the rest of my time I guess will be spend sight seeing.

I'm so excited to be coming out there!

There's the fair... lol. I don't know that city real well- there's more to do down in San Jose.

Yeah, I was probably gonna spend some time at the fair. Gotta have fair food! LOL
