Was thinking about trying to make the DC show, but ... yeah, only like fifteen minutes from me this one is! (he has me all talking like Yoda now!)

I'm going to try to make this one too and convince my mom to come along, maybe bring my nephew. It's a Tuesday night so I might have to do a little wheelin' and dealin' to get the time off work but it's a short enough drive that I can make it round trip in one day.

Tickets for this show go on sale tomorrow, 10AM!

$30 in advance, $32.50 at the door! I going to get tickets for me, my mom, and my nephew whose birthday is the 13th so this will be his birthday present. I'm not even sure if he knows who Al is but I know he'll enjoy the concert! He's going to be 11 or 12--can't remember--so he's a great age for his first Al show!

I went online to get tickets for this show and they weren't on sale so I called the theatre. They told me there was some sort of emergency at there yesterday, didn't say what, so the sale date has been pushed to Friday.

I checked out the seating on their website and it's general admission with standing only at floor level and seating in the balcony--which means probably no WBUL-- but even first row balcony seats look pretty good. Since my mom and nephew aren't going to want to stand for two plus hours in a tightly packed crowd, I'm going to get to the venue early enough that I can get first row balcony seats. It'll give me a chance to test out the 12x optical zoom on my new camera.

The site also said it has one of the most technologically advanced sound systems--I believe they said there's only 7 like them in the US and only 3 on the east cost--so this should be an amazing show!

Ambra,

Thanks for the info!

You said you're going to the venue to pick up the tickets?

Are they not going to sell them online that you know?

They're going to be selling them online starting Friday, according to the person I talked to yesterday at the box office. Since it's "first come, first serve" seating, I'm going to get to the venue early the day of the show so I can make sure I get seats for me, my mom, and my nephew in the front row of the closest balcony section to the stage. Sorry for the confusion.

I'm really looking forward to this show, not just seeing Al and TBitB live again, but also sharing it with my mom and my nephew. Hopefully, my mom will be enthusiastic about going or at the very least, be willing to give it a try and my step-brother and sister-in-law will say it's ok for my nephew to go. My sister-in-law is kinda protective of my nephew because he's the "baby" of three kids but I'm going to assure her that it's a family-friendly show and that at the shows I've been to, at least half the audience is familes there together.

Thanks!

I'm probably going to try and go for seats too rather then the General Admission.

As of right now I'm going solo. That might change by Friday. I usually have to twist friends arms to get them to come with me because they don't "get" Al, so I pay for their first time, but then they have a great time. Hopefully I'll get them to come to this one and pay their own way. I sound like a drug dealer. "First one's free" heh.

Actually it's all general admission, "first come first served" both floor and balcony, no assigned seating. That's why I'm going to get there early so I can get a place near the front of the line so I can get seats in the front row balcony section.

I talked to my mom tonight and told her about the concert and she was surprisingly enthusiastic about it, even though she really doesn't know who Al is. She even said if my nephew can't or doesn't want to come, she'd find someone else to come with her and that she'd contact my aunt in Richmond to see if we could stay there after the concert so we wouldn't have to drive back. I'll make an Al fan out of her yet!
