07/17/08 Chesaning. MI: Showboat Music Festival

There is a chance that my friend Annette and I will be going to this show! She used to live down the street from The Showboat, so I told her we have to go! Last time we talked, she seemed to like the idea. So, we'd be in Chesaning on 7/17, and Rochester Hills on 7/18! First time I've ever gone to two shows in a row. *Hey, when you have a family, tour chasing is really not an option* Anyway, I hope some other WOWAYers will come.

I'll probably be making it to this. Is it actually on a boat?, (Showboat?), or is that just the name of the area. Either way it's an Al concert, within some few hours from home, so we should be able to make it.

I've never been to this venue, either, so I looked it up. According to this Wiki, a riverboat travels around a bend in the Shiawasee River, and docks at the stage of the amphitheater, so the band can make a grand entrance! Sounds very cool! I hope Annette was serious, because that sounds like a unique experience, indeed!

Yes, and it's a riverboat! How cool is that? Apparently, according to Annette, the dressing rooms are also on the boat, so Al will be going back and forth from the boat to the stage. Hopefully, the river will be calm. He may need to buy some dramamine, just in case. LOL!

*Trust me, you can get motion sickness even on a boat that is docked*

I've always wanted to go on the Showboat, we've driven past it numerous times. Depending on my money situation and transportation, I'm going to try to go.

hey, did ya check out the resturants nearby, we can go to the Malt Shop before and have dinner, but dont burn it down, cause i wanna be able to see the show, lol

I kind of want to go to this, because of the whole boat thing. I'm having a tough time committing to it though because my July is already so busy.
