Is AL-TV returning or did you find a nice interview? Just tell the folks here.

Got this in a Google Alert. It's a one-paragraph review of the W&N Tonight Show performance, and accuses Al of lip-syncing. What else is new? <_< Even though there was some debate among us fans in the Tonight Show thread, I think it's agreed that Al did all his parts live, and that TBITB did some of the chorus and transitions, regardless of them lip-syncing it or not. But at least the author knows that Al doesn't lip-sync in concert, and seems to enjoy Al's work.

So, I saw Weird Al on Leno tonight. Man, I love Al, but that was very disappointing. Apparently, he’s the lost Simpson sibling. (Terrible lip-syncing.) I don’t get it. I’ve seen him live (twice) and I know he can pull off a live performance. Very odd. If he tours for his latest CD (I hope, I hope, I hope.), I really hope this isn’t par for the course.

Here's the link to the original article, where you can email the author (I highly suggest it):

Weird Al = Ashlee Simpson?

I already did. I said basically what's been said here a million times: it was Al's first performance of the song (not to mention his first performance since late 2004 ((minus Ben Folds last year)) ), and a particularly difficult song at that, on national TV with the pressure of supporting a Top Ten album, so give him a break, and that it'll be much better by the time the tour starts.

X* I was afraid of a review like that.

On the bright side, at least the reviewer's a fan and no one really cares about late night performances anyway.

well, the live performance was pretty lame IMO also, but I think it's going a bit far to say he was lip synching. He never moved his lips on the canned part or tried to cover it up. He even pulled the mic away most of the time he wasn't singing the vocals.

*sigh* I thought it was quite obvious that Al was singing for the parts he was actually singing on.

Sorry, but the only way I can think of to deal with this sort of people is to laugh at them.

omg even if there were some pre-recorded parts he did sing live too. And i think that it is a terrible thing to compare him to Ashlee Simpson. He is a million times better than her and i'm not just sayn that cuz i love the guy

Check out the comments on that link. There's one by that @$$, Ron Wheeler. Some of you may remember him from the spoiler days. I don't remember what thread it was in, but he had some website in which he attacked Al's (then) upcoming album.
