What to buy?

Post by scottidog »

Ok, I have UHF (The Movie), Greatest Hits, The Food Album, Bad Hair Day, and Running With Scissors. Of course, I am going to buying more...

Since I will probably have to order (doubt if I can get anything locally, I already have what I could find) which is more of a must have of the previous albums? I am thinking probably Off The Deep End and/or In 3-D. Gonna have to buy a little each payday. Any other suggestions?

Well, you need every single one. You will not be disappointed no matter which one you choose.

After I had BHD and RWS, I just started at the beginning with the first ALbum and went from there. You might want to look for that one.

"Off The Deep End" or "IN 3-D"? Flip a coin - they're both excellent. Then there's 'Polka Party' - a favorite of mine. OH, and 'Alapalooza' is good. 'Even worse' is good. You have 'UHF', right? What about 'Dare To Be Stupid'? That is an excellent one too.

Gee, I hope that helps.

Ok, I will make a decision for you. "In 3-D" It has "Eat It" on there , which is a sentimental favorite of mine plus a whole bunch of other good stuff.

'Off The Deep End' has 'Smells Like Nirvana' on it though.

Like I said, flip a coin.

I will have to agree with Debby in that they're all must-haves, and no matter what you pick, you won't be disappointed. They're all great ALbums. :)

I know I'm probably not much help, but still, no matter what you pick, you'll enjoy. :)

buy all his DVD's :)

well, I own every CD here... and they're all excellent. Or do like I did, buy every month another CD/DVD and after a few months, you'll have every CD/DVD :)

im gonna have to agree with whizzi on buying a new one every month, or even every 2 weeks if you can swing it. start at the beginning and work your way up, it's great to listen to his style, and musical styles in general progress through the years. hope it helps!

When I first started REALLY liking Al, my first purchases were RWS, BHD, WAY Live video and Permanent Record. I liked Permanent Record so much I bought the rest of the studio CDs over the next 2 months.

I agree! It's a must to have every ALbum. Each has it's own special tune and feel to it. They're all polkariffic!

Polkariffic! I like that word. Of course I will be buying all of them that I can lay my hands on. Too bad some stuff is out of print :(

Thanks for the input. My WAY obsession is fairly recent. I have been aware of him for years, but I have to say the parodies didn't make me a fan. The original stuff did it for me. They are funny, silly (sometimes scary!) but always brilliant. And his voice. Wow. Not to mention the skill level of the band. They are incredibly talented folks.

Although it is hard to find some of Al's cds in stores, they are all available at amazon.com. Run, don't walk, over there right now and buy them all! :choon:

Have fun :)
