A Modest Proposal for those who want a challenge

Post by Squirrelygirl »

Whilst I was over at VH-1, I glanced at some posts on the message board and someone mentioned the hilarity they found in "Al's song" Weenie in a Bottle.

I posted a correction, complete with links to FAQ's & Catalog, but as I was doing a quick check to see who actually wrote that ode to onanism, Google pulled up a ton of references listing Al as the composer.

I'm just floating an suggestion that we try to contact as many of those websites as possible to (politely, of course) correct this misinformation. It may be about as productive as Sisyphus, but it's worth a shot if you have some spare time.

Sisyphus was a figure in Greek Mythology who was damned by the gods to roll a boulder up a mountain for all eternity, only to have it roll back down the hill over him when he neared the top. I find Sisyphus to be the perfect allegory when describing mindless office jobs.

I think this is an excellent idea. It doesn't help Al at all to have all this false information floating around. I would definatly be willing to e-mail these sites.
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

I know it's difficult to contemplate the notion that, at some point, Al happened to possess a slightly perverted mind. According The Official Website, Al use to perform the songs (cringing) "If I Could Make Love to a Bottle" and (more cringing) "Orgy On My Own" on stage.

Take a look for yourself at http://www.weirdal.com/setlists.htm.
