In the description, it lists his band... is this a spring tour date that leaked before the Friday announcement? Is Emo Philips opening for him?

So does that mean that Emo is going to be touring with Al? Seems a bit odd to have a stand up opener to a concert, but I'm sure it'll be fun!

It actually makes sense. They are friends and with no video clips the show will be shorter. Als usual performance time is about 90 minutes. Throw Emo up there with a 30 minute set it will bring the show to the 2 hours we are accustomed to.

Touring With Scissors and Poodle Hat Tour mostly had stand up comedians for the opening act, to mixed reviews. It was usually some local. They scrapped it because Al had no control over the opening act or their set, which led to some uncomfortable situations.

It could work if Al gets the final call on who opens. He would stick with family friendly acts, or at least ask them to work clean. It would also likely be people he is already friends with (such as Emo), or established names, so they would stick to the script. There are a lot of potential positives. The comedian would get some exposure to a fan base that is proven to be loyal, fans would be exposed to someone they might not otherwise know, and Al could help a friend or two advance their career.

And hey, if it’s Emo every night I’m cool with that too! He’s incredibly funny and most fans would either already know him from his solo work or be familiar with him from his previous projects with Al (UHF, TWAS, IAATP).

Emo would definitely have to modify his act if he's opening for Al, since he's definitely not family friendly. I would not be against this since he's hilarious.

Just peeking in my head in the forum and I ran into this. This is absolutely great news! I was worried that by "smaller venues" it would mean things would get sold out before we could snag any tickets, but I've seen Al in here twice (1369 seats, as per their website) and never had a problem getting tickets (though I may have been sitting in the back).

Now I'm worried about what this "2018 VIP Meet & Greet Experience" is and how much is going to dig me deeper in this financial hole
