turning stone show 7-1

Post by weird_el »

I found out today that tickets for Al's July 1 show at Turning Stone Casino (Verona, NY) have already been onsale for week. There was no warning anywhere. Top price tickets are $55 and all of the tix in the stage front section are gone now. Best available is orchestra (one section behind stage front).

I posted this info last week on the Concert Tracker and WayLive. I posted it about an hour after the tickets went on sale. There was little warning for that concert and the Las Vegas one, though I did manage to get the ticket info for Las Vegas posted about an hour and 15 minutes before they went on sale.

I'm getting kinda peeved at these little "surprises" that quietly pop up regarding tickets. Some of these Ticketmaster presales are announced weeks in advance, while others aren't announced until only hours before they happen.

And then there are still unresolved problems such as the Kings Dominion show, the Rochester Hills on-sale date, the Greek Theater, if the Woodstock Fair is now on sale, etc. You know, little things that make you wonder if these venues actually want to sell seats for their events.

Bah! I wish I had known! I just found out this place was near me, but then I thought that tickets weren't on sale yet!! But they were!! Oh well, I get a King Table or whatever, but I really wanted that booth... I hope I don't have to sit near any talky people....

Sometimes it seems the venues don't even know when they are selling tickets.

I called one venue on a Friday and they didn't know when tickets would go on sale. It was only about 100 miles away from me so I drove up there the next morning and found out they had been on sale for a hour before I got there. Luckily I got a 3rd row seat with no seats in front of me.

So is anyone else here actually going to the Turning Stone Show tomorrow? The show is sold out, luckily we got tickets in the Orchestra section, the day after they went on sale.

Yep, I went. :) I waited for a hour and a half for an autogragh, the security person didn't know if he was coming or not. Even though!!! She had a walkie talkie and could find out immediatly. But he didn't come, went straight to the bus. I saw Steve though. :) He seemed to want to get away quickly so I didn't follow. Ooo, and I got my picture taken which might be in the newspaper. :)

But of course the concert was great, and I was so surprised it was a sold-out show!! He's more popular then ever. And I got a shirt. Groovy.

I might have seen you there then, we waited in the crowd for an hour and a half, and were some of the last people to leave when we knew he wasn't going to come out. So many people came out of that room and knew darn well he wasn't going to come out, but wouldn't tell us that.

But anyway, it was a great show and I got a lot of great pictures.

Lot of pictures... Hey, did you have long hair in the back?? If so, I was right behind you in the end, next the the kid who kept asking the people walking out of that room if he's coming, and they ignored him. It was a very simple yes or no questions.
