I once saw The Compleat Al available to rent at "Blockbuster Video." If you find an old Blockbuster Video store that's been around for a long time, you might try there. They can probably check with other stores in the area to see if they carry it.

Or, you can save yourself some walking and check Blockbuster's web site. You can search by title, and then search through a list of stores based on your zip code.

Well, I checked mine and just as I thought, none of the ones here carry it. *sigh*

Rare, as in, GET A COPY FROM YOUR LIBRARY!!!! NOW!!! I ORDER IT EVERY OTHER MONTH PROBABLY!!!!! if it's there.

I did that once, but it was so messed up I couldn't watch it. That's why I never even got to see UHF until the DVD came out.

Most video stores probably stopped carrying it because not enough people rented it and it was just taking up space on the shelf. The best bet is probably to keep checking on eBay. Eventually, someone will come across a copy and sell it.

I remember when I first learned of the existence of the book "The Authorized Al." It was pre-Internet. I made my mom drive me all over the place looking for it in rare book stores. I never did find it until the Internet and eBay came along.

Tried that. None of the Blockbusters around here have it either. :onfire:

You know, reading this discussion makes me glad I bought "The Compleat Al" off an Amazon.com auction three years ago. Now I have the luxury of watching it whenever I want. Okay, I'll stop bragging now! :P

Yeah please do. :P

JUUUST KIDDING!! (Hey, I'd probably brag too!) I mean, I kinda get happy and slightly braggy about ANY of my Al stuff, so...

I have a fantastic idea! How about a Compleat Al re-release on DVD with updates and etc? :D
