Hi, fred. Too bad you couldn't hear. I'm sure it was still WAY Moby to be there, though. Awaiting you're comments after watching it on tape. Here's a pic from Reuters of Al during his intro speech for Evanessence. hehe, and I made my avvie before even seeing it! Woe to any soul who dares to stand in their way!
Another pic of Al from the AMA's official site. Hmm, looks familiar! hehe! GMTA, AMA site!
Al on the red carpet!
Awww!

Yeah, I like those pics, too. I've been looking at the different photo galleries at the AMA's site, and found some webcam pics of Al. Just go there, and click the next button a few times. I think there are four different shots.
Tee hee! Here is a pic of Al, taken by a contest winner, who was set loose on the red carpet with a T-Mobile phone. I love it!

Ha! I saw it! It was funny!
Rod Stewart doing show tunes kinda worried me, and I think that Fleetwood Mac's number was a little dry, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Clay, Reuben, and all the rest of them were a bit scary. I liked Pink and Evanescence though.
Of course, Al was very well recieved! I loved that speech, I must get a word for word transcript of it somewhere!

Well, I just wanted everyone to know I had a great time at the AMA's. I had never been to an awards show before, and the experience was well worth it! Parking in the area is a real bear, and they close off streets for the celebrities and all the limos. We lucked out though we were driving down 27th st (I kid you not) and Fred spotted a space. Way to go Fred!! so we parked on 27th st. We then had about a 6 block walk, but it was a nice day so the walk was fun. We had to enter the Shrine Auditorium from the back...They kept us well away from all the celebrities. Most everyone was dressed to the nines. Kevin, Fred and Myself all wore Hawaiians, we got some looks from some pretentious snobs, but it didn't bother me. They were all freezing in their skimpy gowns and we were comfy cozy!! We were searched first with a metal detector for cameras and video recorders, then we were pat searched. Very strict security, we were going to try and sneak in a camera, but we would have been caught. I'm glad we didn't try. Once inside all of the paying audiences seats are up in the balcony so we had to climb a ton of stairs (we found out later there was an elevator) the hallways and stairways weren't lit very well, I think they are lucky no one hurt themselves. This was my first time at the shrine. It's really not that big inside but there was something about it that I liked. It's an older theatre so it has a very worn feeling to it. Everything is done in arabian type architecture and design (Hence the name the Shrine.) Our timing was perfect, we got to our seats with 15 minutes before showtime. Dick Clark himself was calling out times over the PA system. The celebrities all have to be seated when the show goes on. We were seated in the second to the last row of the place, Everyone on stage looked like ants, but people around us who had Binoculars were nice enough to let us use them too. The sound was AWFUL!!! I'm sure on TV it came across really well but most of the presenters couldn't be heard up where we were at. The music was loud enough to be heard, but a lot of the vocals during songs couldn't be heard. I fell in love with 2 artists last night. I thought Pink was Fabulous and so was Evanescence (Sp?). I think Al did a great job, although he was on for such a short time. In a blink he was gone. I could see him sitting behind Clay the whole night. The evening actually went by really quick, it wasn't like watching it on TV. Live was so much better! Jimmy Kimmel was an Okay host (The parts I could hear), and I of course didn't like his comment about AL. Overall I really enjoyed myself and may try to go to other events like this. I tried to set my VCR to tape the show, but I did something wrong and I recorded nothing, Absolutely nothing. I was hoping to hear what I had missed. If anyone has the whole show taped (including the pre-show which we didn't get to see) can we work out something so I can have a copy? I'm sure we can figure out some kind of trade.

I guess I'm not the only one who liked Pink and Evanessence! I thought it was very cool that Al got to introduce that band. They so rocked! And so did Al's intro! You'll notice my avatar is a shot from the speech.

It's a shame you couldn't hear. Phooey on the snobs who gave you dirty looks.

I need a better copy than what I attempted to get on my tape. I did get Al introducing the band, but not his interview. Wah!
Patti
~ who also liked Outkast. I've watched Al's speech about a dozen times, and have let the tape run until it stops, dancing every time Outkast comes on! hehe!

Please, Dave, I hope you got it! hint hint.
I'm assuming I did. I set the VCR over at Mom and Dad's and that usually gives me a good picture. They have digital cable. All I have is a rooftop antenna and ABC doesn't even come in all that clear in the evenings. Probably because the antenna wire's actually so old, it
broke in two places so far that I've noticed. So while I ran cable wire to all the TVs in my house, outside the wire's not actually connected to the antenna.

Brilliant, huh?
Anyway, I didn't actually watch the show, because 1.) award shows are usually more fun to watch in fast forward a few days later, and 2.) bad reception, and 3.) I
really really really felt like playing Super Mario World. Stupid cloud creature taunting me with your free life on a fishing pole only to double cross me and throw spiny things at me!!! I'll get you one of these days!!! :lookround:
I did see Al in the audience during Jimmy Kimmel's little monologue. Al looked felicitous.
Uh, well, uh, OK, anyway, I-I know it's kind of a roundabout way of saying it, but, I guess the whole point I'm tryin' to make here is... maybe. I'll get back to you.

So here's a discussion topic:
Is the Evanevanoxinfree's introduction the first post Poodle Hat album clue? After all, we know what happened with the AMAs the last time....Granted, a parody would be a stretch, but "Bring Me to Life" sure fits in a polka.....
Well, previously on the AMAs, Al called Melissa Joan Hart his hot muffin of love, and we all know where that relationship went. They got married, bought a house, and had two beautiful children. But then some inappropriate questions were asked, and last I heard, she's just his luke-warm cookie of friendship. So, you never know.
