Thanks to everyone for their pictures and reviews! I just got done reading and viewing all of them. Great job! Awesome pictures!

I had had lunch that day with Dave & Melissa (at a restaurant that has an Al song title in its name, bonus points for guessing where we were),

Am I allowed to guess? 'Cause I think I might be able to get it on the first try.

Bad move. 60 minutes of inching along stuck in traffic after I got off the 405 onto the 55 (that's an hour to cover maybe a half-mile or so), and when I'd finally gone past all the full-up lots and completely circled the fairground

Hey Dave, on Day 3 of the concert were you sitting near the center?  Because when Al sings "Cause I went to New Jersey and IT SUCKED!" He looked down and shook his head to someone saying "No it didn't" and I know that Al probably saw you so I was wondering if he was saying that to you.

I kind of thought he said something like that too, and I've heard several variations from amateur lip readers on what Al mouthed, but Al told me that he said, "I'm sorry Dave" so I suppose I should officially go with that one. At any rate, it was totally awesome.

I've read a couple of reviews alluding to Dave's moment during "I'll Sue Ya". I can't wait to read Dave's story.

Patti: I don't think Steve was looking at me in that pic.... there was a cool moon in the sky across from the stage. He commented on it the second night, so my guess is that it was visible the first night too, I think that is what he was looking at in that pic..

Maria, that's a cool story about what Steve was looking at. The pretty blue eyes comment still stands. All I really meant was, it looks as if he's looking at whoever is looking at the picture.

NIGHT FOUR 7/20/07

This night started off as the worst for me, personally. I don’t know if it was something I ate (or maybe lack of eating/drinking) or what, but I felt really sick. I was sick pretty much the whole afternoon, but I started to feel better after the first few songs during the concert (when medication started kicking in). So, if I wasn’t my normal friendly self, that’s why. Even though I felt horrible, I was determined to suck it up and stay for the concert. After all, I had an aftershow pass for that night. I wanted to start feeling better so I could hang backstage! Watching the concert helped, too, I think. We got Bob again tonight. About a third of the way into White and Nerdy, the backing track stopped playing. And, of course, the backing track for that song is the majority of the music. Just seconds after it happened, Al waved his arms and said, “You know, there’s no reason to play this song… ‘Radio, Radio’!” The transition was so smooth, that some people thought it was part of the act. So, Jim and Steve grabbed their instruments, and they played RR. That was the first time I had heard it played. Normally, during WAN, Jim folds down the mic stand so it’s not blocking people’s view. But when he grabbed his guitar for RR, he just set the mic down on the keyboard and didn’t set the stand back up. So, after a few measures, he flagged down the SM and pointed to the stand. It was frantically set back up with only measures to spare before Jim had to use it to sing the chorus with Al. I got some great photos of the two of them together in their WAN costumes. The rest of the concert went great. I sang the whole Yoda Chant! I saw Steve looking at me mouthing the words at one point. It’s so easy now. I still have to concentrate on the african section, but the rest is easy. I’m a choir geek, so I find it fun to memorize music, haha. I never really paid close attention to the chant before the OC Fair, and I saw it as a fun little challenge to see how quickly I could memorize it. For tonight’s encore, Al came out and did the Cell Phones song. Then, he surprised us all and explained that, since there were technical difficulties during WAN, they were going to do it over! So they performed WAN out of costume, which was pretty cool. Made for some confusing photos!! After WAN, Al asked the audience, “One more?” Of course, we all cheered. So they went on to do Albuquerque. And guess what? At the “lost my train of thought” part, he added more about being forgetful “Don’t you hate it when you get 10 and a half minutes into an 11 minute song and completely loose your place?” (Or something to that effect). “I guess we’ll have to start all over!” So they did!! They actually started the song over from the top. Al sang up to about the Sauerkraut line when he “remembered” where he was. So, they skipped up to the point where they started over and finished out the song. So, not only did we get 1 ½ WAN’s, we also got 1 ½ Albuquerques tonight! How awesome is that? Anyways, after the concert was over I went backstage to meet up with Jim. I immediately found Bermuda standing out in the front area and asked him to sign my sister’s shirt. I didn’t want him to sneak away again like the previous night. After he signed it, I thanked him and Jim and I walked into the back. There was a ton of people back there tonight! Probably over twice as many as the other nights. Jim had a bunch of friends with him, so I chatted with him for some of the time, but then just kinda hung around people watching. I offered to play photographer for the people meeting Al for a little while. I only did that for a few people before Suzanne and Nina came out. The previous night, Christina had brought a present for Nina, but didn’t know how to get it to her. I told her that I would be back there tomorrow, so I took it with me. So, when I saw Nina, I went and grabbed the present. I gave it to her, explaining to her and Suzanne that is was from Christina. Suzanne prompted Nina to say “thank you” and then turned to me and asked if I knew where Christina was. I explained that she didn’t have a pass- and that the one I had was from Jim. Suzanne wanted to get Christina backstage. Standing with us was Nina’s swim teacher. She reached into her pocket and pulled out an extra sticker. She said her friend never showed up, so she had an extra. I took it and ran out to find Christina. I found her as she was walking away from the merch stand. I ran up to her and shoved the sticker into her hands and said, “Here!” She looked down at what I had handed her and her face totally lit up with excitement. As we briskly walked back to the gate, I explained to her that it was Suzanne’s idea, and that Nina was looking at the book as we spoke. I walked with Christina over to the tables where they were sitting. Sure enough, Nina was looking through the book with her swim teacher helping her. It was so cute to watch. What a priceless moment that was. Christina was so excited to see that she liked it so much. Suzanne thanked Christina, and again prompted a thank you from Nina. Christina and I hung out together backstage for the rest of the evening. We talked with Suzanne more, and also to Jim and his friends. I guess I must have been acting pretty casual and comfortable, because one of Jim’s friends thought I was part of the crew! Haha. “I wish…”, I replied. Towards the end of the night, Christina and I were talking to Suzanne who was holding Nina. Nina was half asleep through the conversation, but towards the end she looked up and saw Al meeting and greeting. She said, “Hi, Daddy!….. Daddy!.. Daddy!” Oh, my goodness, that was so cute. Anyways, it was getting late, so I talked to Jim a bit more and then called it a night. What started as the worst night turned into one of the best!
