I love it, Louise!

Now over 4 months since color has touched my hair. I am not happy about this, as the grays are showing up more and more. If I get my hair cut again soon, whatever color was on my hair will be cut off, and I'll be my natural, brown with a touch of red self, with tons of grays mixed in.

Haha! This is entertaining.

1. We were both born and raised in good ole Southern California

2. We were both born in the afternoon (my 2:11pm vs Al's 1:56pm... 15 minutes apart!)

3. Brunettes with just-past-shoulder-length hair

4. We share the same number of vowels in our first and last names (AlfrEd yAnkOvIc, 5, krIstInE slIpsOn, 5).

5. Near-sightedness (Before LASIK)... I'm considering the procedure in the near future.

6. We've both stood on the Cal Poly SLO campus. In fact, I'm going there this weekend for a horse show.

7. We've both been on Bio and A&E (lol... had to add that one.)... at the same time, in fact! Shhh... I know I didn't have my OWN show... but I was on it, ok?

I'm sure there are more, but those are what I could think of for now.

1. Between October 23rd and November 16th of any given year we are the same age.

2. We both have met Suzanne. Al met her first.

3. We both have eaten tofu in West Hollywood.

4. We both know someone who knows someone who went to high school with him in Lynwood. There's gotta be six degrees or less of separation in there somewhere.

5. We've both been in the deejay booth of KCPR. We were not there at the same time, and I was not broadcasting, but I was there.

6. We've both been in the men's bathroom across from the KCPR studios more than once. [Don't ask. I won't tell. I do, however, have photos, complete with several other Gals and a life sized cutout of Al, complete with accordion.]

I will think of others soon, but Greg is waiting for me downstairs. To my knowledge, Greg has never waited for Al downstairs.

Cheers, Diva

Both our names start with "Al". Clearly, it's a sign that we're meant to be!!!

That's our Diva!

Oh, I've met Suzanne as well. Also after Al did. Nice gal.

I'm such a liar. This is what I said back in 2003. Note the section in bold print:

Well, when my hair is it's natural color, as it was at AlCon, it's pretty close to Al's color. But you won't be seeing that color again. I like being a blonde, and that is what I'll be for a while

I color my hair in various shades of red now, and that is the color scheme of the moment. I like it. I think I stopped being a blonde around 2004.

I think even with color on mine, I was pretty close to Al's color here. I just had a bit more red.

1. We were born in the same county (20 miles and two years apart).

2. Early, life-changing exposure to MAD magazine (I still know the words to two of their food parodies learned in junior high school).

3. In 8th grade I actually performed a parody I'd written ("The Sound of Violence" -- a pseudo-Simon-and-Garfunkel number about what happens to substitute teachers) at a school talent assembly. Thank goodness I quit when I was ahead. :P

4. Horrible dead-end jobs right out of college (like the time the temp agency sent me and my brand-new degree to peel price tags off bottles of sun tan lotion).

5. Myopia. My left eye is 20/400. I'm more of a chicken than Al about things being done to my eyes, though. I'm still wearing wire-rimmed glasses.

6. Similar hair color. Mine's straight, but I had a dreadfully frizzy series of perms all through the 80's.

7. Al used to drive a beat-up white Toyota Corolla. I drive a beat-up white Toyota Corolla.

8. We both participated in speech tournaments in high school.

9. I can order a meal in a Mexican restaurant every bit as expertly as he can. (taco.... grande!)

10.We still live in the same county.

That's all I can think of for now.

Oh yes... Al has said he's not a dancer. I'm REALLY not a dancer. And we both have IQs that are up into THREE DIGITS!
Inspired by Diva:

I too have been in the KCPR studio and in the Men's Room of Renown across the hall, with pictures to prove it. Ditto Bubblegum Alley.

We've both met Suzanne. Al met her first.

I've stood on Dr. Demento's front porch, and while I don't know for certain whether Al has, it does seem likely, doesn't it?

I do have a coupla pairs of Vans and a coupla Hawaiian shirts.

We've both been summoned for jury duty in Los Angeles Superior Court. Al served. I haven't yet.

I went through the 80's with a bad perm. Al went through the 80's with bad natural hair (his description, remember).

We both like pizza.

We've both been to Hawaii.
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

Ok, I literally have a couple of pairs of Vans. Just two. One pair just like Al's, and one pair pretty close to just like Al's. I have many Hawaiian shirts, and two that are just like Al's. My Planet Hallywood shrit and the Rock the House shirt.
