If I recall It took almost a year to get my autograoh pic. In fact I had forgotten all about it - I sent a really Stupid (Not Stoopid which is good...but Bad Stupid) so I think I mentally blocked it out that I could send anything that rediculous. I'm getting ready to mail a new letter because I want the new promo pic. I always include a SASE, I read that I HAD to on someones websitr (Can't remember who). They listed "rules" about writing to Al.

About a year ago i sent Al a fan letter. Now i know that he has been on tour and everything but how long does it usually take to get a response. I have been waiting since last december. if any of you have sent him a letter and i'm sure someone has how long does it usually take to get one back and is his response typed or handwritten by him.

i personally have never written Al, but i think in the Mothership, it says that it takes awhile to get to him and that he does read it all eventually.

I have never gotten a personal response from a fan letter. I did get an autographed pic *which I was not expecting, because I didn't ask for one* a form letter, and a mail-in order form from CPFOA. It took about six months for me to hear back. I had written a few fan letters, and got responses like that from two. *I only got the one pic, though*. I think it was a year later for the other letter. Just remember, on weirdal.com, it does say to imagine a glacier, so it might be a while. Hang in there!

well i was just wondering . I do remember reading about it on the mothership. The person who asked the question said that it took two years. So that 2 years could be just now starting because of him touring before and i'm sure that he probably has lads of mail to see not just fan mail.

I hope you didn't think I was trying to be mean, because I wasn't. It might vary, depending on what's going on with Al. I hope you hear back.

There's not a promise that Al will ANSWER fan mail himself. He's said (and we believe him) that he READS it all... eventually... but if he answered all our letters he'd never have time to do anything else. If you ask for an autographed picture, Al's peeps at Close Personal Friends of Al will send one (really signed by Al) but that and putting you on the mailing list is as far as it gets. But even reading it is a lot more than a lot of stars do. I think it's pretty cool that he does.

Thanks, OE. I wonder where he keeps all the mail now that Nick and Mary are gone?

*For those who don't know, he had said before that he stored all his fan mail at their house.* I'm sure that big house of his has somewhere where he can store it. That's so sweet that he keeps all the letters. And a lot nicer than David Cassidy, who never read one letter, but burned them all!
