My observations on the first two nights....
1. Two absolutely FABULOUS performances! Al and the band shine at the OC fair, and the fairgoers love him more and more with every stand there, too. It's just one big love fest, so much fun.
2. At the performances, toward the end [Fat and the Cellphone/Albuquerque encore] the younger kids have tended to gather toward the front at the Steve side. They are soooooo much fun to watch. Last night SG and I were watching them boogie and recite the words to Albuquerque right along with Al. There are 7,8,9 year olds who were in diapers when Running With Scissors was released. [Good grief does that make me feel OLD.]
3. The security guy in the front of the stage on Tuesday was pretty cool, but in general this year they're a little crabbier than in past years. No Massive Mike

4. Darth Vader and the storm troopers in white were a hoot last night during TSB.
5. Tuesday: Bob. Wednesday: Why Does This Always Happen To Me.
6. ALPOTO makes yummy brownies. Thank you so very very much.
7. The Yankheads gathered here are soooooooo terrific! Meeting Jeannine is a pleasure and I hope she continues to enjoy our home turf here. [Yesterday she was at Disneyland during the day.] CindyBob is here again! El, Rachael, Maria and Jayma, Elvis of course are all in from far-flung places. Peggy [I don't know if she lurks here or not] is a regular at SoCal shows and is from Santa Barbara; I've met her at least once every tour. TMBJon, WeirdAlexis279, HoldenToo, and a bunch of the rest of us here-find me, I have WOWAY tags and besides I want to meet you!
Tonight and Friday Greg will be coming with me, his second and third shows. Saturday he's bring his three kids for their first shows.
Wow. This is the best OC Fair ever, except for July 24, 1999, which was my first [and also second] Al concert.
