I have a spare ticket (two, actually), but I think it's for Saturday, but I'm not sure. I'll check in and let you know.
Update: Greg talked to his kids and they had forgotten that they do their weekly paper delivery on Friday evenings so NOW:
They will be using the four SATURDAY tickets-I have a couple of spare Friday tickets I could trade, or could someone sell a spare Saturday ticket to me since Greg and his kids will be using the four Saturday tickets now?
Barney Slayer, if you do indeed have a Saturday spare, that would be wonderful, or anyone else also. Please PM me or let me know here.

In about 26 hours I'll be on my way to the fairgrounds!
For those who haven't been to the fair before:
1. Bring cash for parking ($5 regular, $10 preferred parking) in correct change (don't give them a $20) and have it out when you get in the line of cars. The people behind you will appreciate it.
2. WEAR sunscreen! I can't stress this enough. I don't want to hear about "well, I don't burn", or "I won't be there that long before the sun goes down". Put some on anyways.
3. Bring a water bottle. You need to drink water in this heat. Not only that, but it's better to bring your own than pay the $6 for a small bottle there (I may be exaggerating a little on the price, but you get the point) or drink from those fountains.
4. If you plan on going on some rides, wear closed-toed shoes. Most rides don't allow sandals.

Well I have decided to push ahead and venture out alone to the OCF from Tucson. I hope to meet some of you when I'm there. I'll be going to the concert on the 19th., and I was hoping someone that lives / drives in the southern California area could give me their opinion about the true headache status of construction on I-5 versus I-15?
I'm driving south to the area around Escondido after the concert, and I was wondering if it was worth going a few extra miles out of the way at the start to use I-15 S in order to avoid the possible construction delays that AAA says could be along I-5 and along highway 78 between Oceanside and Escondido. I'm chosing to travel that night to help avoid actual construction and heavier commuter traffic.
If the construction zones are not a complete mess, I might consider using the I-5. But if it is cut down to two usable lanes and 35 MPH, or some other unknown nightmare for the bulk of the distance, I'd prefer to avoid it.
Also, I'd be happy if anyone would be willing to offer parking / entrance gate strategy tips for the actual fair.
Any help and opinions appreciated. I'm very excited about seeing the show and possible meeting some great Al feinds (friends).
Thanks!
Steph
Hi, Steph- I live in Oceanside, and my Mom lives in Escondido, so I'm pretty familiar with the area, and I've traveled to Los Angeles and back twice in the last two weeks, and Highways 78 and 5 both seem fine, and I would not take the long way around on Hwy. 15. You may run into late night highway construction, but it's nothing extensive, and in my opinion not a reason to take the 15.
The toll road people are referring to is the 73, which you would then take to the 405, and unless you are in terribly congested traffic when you approach the 73, I wouldn't bother spending the money to take it. If you happen to be there during rush hour, it can be a help. I think the toll is $3 or $4.
As far as the fair parking goes, I usually just enter the parking lot where I'm being directed to enter. There are a number of fair entrances from the parking lot, so that's not a problem, and it's a little hard to try to pick and choose where in the lot to park, because parking personnel are trying to fill the lot in an orderly fashion.

I'm packed. My room is clean and I have to go to work tomorrow since I'm missing the Tuesday show since I didn't have the funds when tickets were on sale. Ah well. I still get 4/5 shows, which is awesome.
I'm gonna be so excited and bouncy at work tomorrow. I'm already excited, but it'll be worse tomorrow and worse on Wednesday morning when I leave.
I can't wait to see everyone again and meet new people!

I don't think I've mentioned this yet, but I'm going to be at the OC Fair concert on the 19th (Thursday). Who else is going that day?
