Good list. I don't know where anyone got the idea that MnGs were less likely at theatres. If anything they are more likely.
My breakdown
RWS tour
4 theatre shows. The first was in Feb -- too cold for an MnG
The second had one
The third and fourth were the same day at the same venue. No MnG but I got to see Al after the second show because I brought a special gift.
OC Fair 2002
6 shows -- 1 MnG
PH tour
3 theatre shows -- 3 MnGs
OC Fair 2007
who knows?

I Unfortunately missed the Iowa City Show but I got 3rd Row Orchestra Pit Tickets to the Show This year in Cedar Rapids on July 1st, Anyone know if there's a good shot that he'll be doing a meet and greet at the Paramount Theatre, I have NO problem waiting after the show if it means getting a chance to have my pic taken w/him and an autograph

let me know if you've got any info or thoughts on it, and if you're going to the show, cant WAIT to see him in concert!!!!!!!!!!

I have a little time, so I am going to update my stats for the SOL tour and MnG's. The more points you have on the graph, the better the data, right?
Straight Outta Lynwood (4 shows, 4 venues...so far!)
Misses:
casino-1
festival-1
Hits:
casino-1
theater-1
Since that time, I found out there WAS a MnG at Atlantic City...we were just in the wrong place!
Plus, I have been to an additional 6 shows, bringing my total to 10.
Straight Outta Lynwood (10 shows, 10 venues so far!)
Misses:
festival-1
Performing Arts Center-1
theater-1
Hits:
theater-5
casino-2
I had a pass to one theater show, but there was also an unofficial thing.
So, with 45 shows:
26 (57%) theaters with 15 hits (57% of theater shows, 33% overall)
3 (6%) at amusement parks with 0 hits
2 (4%) at outdoor venues with 1 hit
6 (13%) at casinos with 2 hits
5 (11%) at miscellaneous venues with 1 hit
3 (6%) at fairs with 0 hits
I thought I had done pretty well with about a 50-50 chance of a post show deal on RWS, but SOL seems a lot better.
I have 5 shows left so far (so YAY, I will hit 50 shows by the end of my SOL tourchasing) assuming no more are added, and Dave and I don't get anymore wild hair road trip ideas, so I'll update my stats after Foxwoods!

Your best bet is at a smaller venue (like a theatre) when they don't have to travel too too far for the next show. They decide on a mag or not mainly based on two things: how many people, and how much time they have before they need to leave. And whether or not Al's feels up to it, of course (weather or heath pending). And, of course, having a pass is a completely different animal.

I believe it resembles a hippogriff.

I am just sad that Al didn't have one in SLC. Oh well. There's always next tour. Plus, we had to get home to our baby anyway, so we didn't have much time to hang around.

I did mention to Al in Idaho Falls that a few of us waited around for him after the SLC show. Well, I think it was really just me and Jake and our companions plus one other guy with his kids. Al said that it's really hard to do M&Gs at state fairs, so I guess we shouldn't expect it to happen if he ever plays the Utah State Fair again. However, I didn't think it would have been that difficult to do. We were just on the other side of a waist-high concrete barrier from the crew bus, which was parked right next to the band bus. But then again, we did have to first evade the mean usher lady who was trying to shoo us out of the venue.
Anyway, I shouldn't complain...I got to meet him in Idaho Falls. That's 3 out of 4 theater venues that I've been to in various tours where he did M&Gs. The one he didn't do was Vegas during the PH tour (but the theater was in a casino). I've seen him do M&Gs in 0 of 3 outdoor shows I've been to (2 fairs and 1 misc.).

I've been 0 for 2. At both Al concerts I've been to, I either couldn't hang around or didn't know to.
I'm driving from DC to Harrisburg, PA to try to meet him. Even if he doesn't do a M&G, it will still be a good show.
I can't wait!!!

I was amused by security in KC. They tried to tell us that Al left in a SUV 5 minutes ago and we hadn't even been out of the venue for 5 minutes. So we waited around since I knew there were backstage meetings going on in there. Plus, another security guard came out and said Al was still in there.
The first security guard turned around and said, "But they told me he already left."
2nd guard: Well, they lied to you.
A meet and greet never happened, but oh well.
