So, this is just a joke trailer? At first that's what I thought but Al on Twitter and facebook, and on weirdal.com make it sound real...and it's early for April fools lol.
April Fools Day is for amateurs. You NEVER need an excuse to mess with people's heads.
Still, it's pretty elaborate for a hoax.
Yeah, and all those Weird Al videos were pretty damn elaborate for songs that weren't, y'know, REAL...
Funny Or Die makes lots of funny viral spoof videos that, through website ad revenue, can afford to look as elaborate and professional as the real thing, thus helping the joke. It's not a HOAX exactly, more of a...oh, what's the word for it? Kind of a........PARODY.
Yeah.
Anyway, I hope Al plays this clip in concert. The most ideal place would be right before "Fat," replacing that old MTV spot from 1998 (another satirical take on Al's career that went swooshing over the heads of some irony-impaired folk, myself at the time included...)

That was interesting. That was a really well done parody. Gotta love Al's cameo in it.
I imagine there are some people who've seen that and think that's what Al's life was like.
I agree. That kind of clip would fit perfect in the concert clips.

I just saw the video on Funny or Die after seeing the link on Digg, and it was awesome. Like many have already said, too bad it isn't a real movie, because I would totally pay to see this.

Okay, got this working by switching the resolution.

Really enjoyed this! It wasn't perfect, and granted I probably laughed harder when listening to the new Richard Cheese album earlier, but still thought that this was done really well!

I will never cease to be amazed by the Weird Al fan community's inability to recognize satire.

Oh so utterly brilliant. Seriously, the best thing I've seen all day. Completely turned my grumpy worn-out attitude upside down. Love Al's part in it especially, naturally. So well done.

Yes, real elaborate for a hoax. I was real impressed that they got Olivia Wilde from "House." That is awesome - unless someone wants to tell me that really wasn't her as Madonna.
A parody of a parody artist's life. Perfect. The Jim Morrison references were great!

True dat.
An elaborate hoax is the best type there is.

This video just about made my night...Patton had the Dr. Demento VOCAL impersonation down pretty well also...I sort of doubt Al had that big of a hand in writing this, but still, great job...

Also give it up one more time for Aaron Paul, folks. That was the most bad-ass Weird Al ever committed to film!
