He who's tired of Weird Al is tired of life.

One of the things I like about Al is that I keep coming across stuff like this blog comment:
I used to date a roadie for Weird Al. He puts on an awesome show and he is a really great guy with his crew - for real.

It's one thing for a performer to be seen as a great guy by fans and journalists. Being seen as a great guy by fans and journalists is practically a job requirement. But when he's seen as a great guy by the roadies, the woman who takes care of his costumes, the girl manning the merch booth, the writer on his tv show, the fan extras on a video, the venue manager, the manager of the hotel where he stays on vacation (and I've seen all of these), then the conclusion becomes inescapable... he really is a great guy.
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

What I like about Al is that I will never have to worry about seeing tabloid stories about him driving drunk, giving a sloppy performance because he was too busy partying to rehearse, beating up photographers or fans, having wild parties with groupies, going in and out of rehab, using derogatory language in a fit of rage, or any of the other "scandals" that make headlines now. He's a kind, decent family man who treats everyone he meets with respect. It's too bad the press isn't more interested in people like him.

I know if you arn't an underweight, cheating, suisidal, alcoholic, the press couldn't care less.... I agree though, Al is happy, clean (as in police records and stuff... although I'm sure he doesn't smell all that bad), not to mention happily mairried.... Wow... you just don't come across celebrities like THAT anymore....
