Well, I don't think this topic will be closed. We all have the right to express our opinions. That's the beauty of this forum. We may not always agree, but we also can't just close a topic because some of the things said were harsh or negative in our eyes. The other topic was basically to announce when the show was on, although some reviews did get posted there. Maybe the two could be merged. Anyway, yeah, it's tough to see some of the negative stuff, but again, that's within the rights of the people who have that opinion.

Nothing is ever really an "excuse", but I do think that he has every right to be, or any performer for that matter. Until you walk in a performer's shoes, don't knock them.

I don't think this topic is going to be locked because of people voicing their opinions; at least, it shouldn't be. Nor should anyone call "newbies" lesser fans than people who are beyond the "newbie" stage. People on this message board are not the only big Al fans in the world, and how many posts you have and when you registered does not make you any bigger a fan than someone who doesn't post here at all. Anyone can have an opinion; anyone can voice their opinion, and they should not be persecuted or told they are wrong for doing so.

What? I made a negative review, and all of a sudden it's WWIII? Pick up a newspaper, and you will see many bad things being said about movies, books, theatre, you name it. It's called a review, but the critics aren't "haters" or "bashers", and neither am I. I saw it, I made a review, and that's what I thought. But just because it's negative doesn't mean I am not an Al fan, or a newbie. Al has had good performences, Al has had bad. Just because I found the latter true for one performance doesn't mean I am the Yankovic-Sith, it only means I didn't like it and he could've done better.

When you critique a musician is one thing, when you critique a person miles away from you is another. Maybe that should be your golden rule.

I agree with all of that 100%.

Um...this is happening WAY too much. I keep finding myself agreeing with things you say. I'm scared!

Personally, I think the suggestion that topics be locked are thrown around way too much on this forum. Well Well Well is absolutely right here...not that he's frequently wrong or anything...This topic goes to show some people are incredibly sensitive when it comes to Al, even when the matters of opinions and constructive criticism arise.

This topic is not being locked. We respect everyone's opinions. Please try to be civil about it. If you don't agree with someone's opinion, you have two options: 1. Politely respond with why you disagree (examples, reasons, etc.) or 2. Ignore it.

I have to agree. This is a forum, people. It's for discussion. In case we're not clear on the definition of that, it doesn't mean everyone should express the exact same opinion and if anyone disagrees, the topic should immediately be locked. Disagreements are a necessary part of discussion. It makes things more interesting.

Yeah, I agree with Well, Well, Well, too, especially since I practically said the same thing before he did. I will also say that my post before that one got roped in with Alinite's, even though I don't agree with what he said, just to clear things up. All I said in that post was that I thought a few comments were harsh. I didn't say they were wrong. I won't change my opinion on the performance, nor can I change anyone else's. We all just have to learn to accept that not everyone has the same opinion on the performance, but that doesn't make anyone here any less of a fan if they didn't like it.
