Well, if I had a dime for every time somebody beat me to a comment...I wouldn't even be able to buy a gumball from a gumball machine. But that's only because they don't take dimes. They only take quarters.

I finally got to get around to watching it and here are my 27 cents. I really have to agree with the author of the article. I could tell there wasn't lip-synching, but I could definetly hear the backing vocals. I lost a bit of respect for Al. I watched it and it was like "What the hell?". I didn't even hear many live insturments. I mean, anybody can rap the lines to the song. What happened to the band? Look, he's done live with Johnny Carson, The Weird Al Show, Nickleodeon and countless others. There he didn't need any backing vocals, but all of a sudden The Jay Leno of Death is before him and he goes from AL to AshLey! I know he can do better, he just didn't put in much effort.

The reason you didn't hear much in the way of live instruments is because this isn't a live-instrument song. If you look at the music credits on the cd booklet, everything on the instrumental track was PROGRAMMED by Jim and Bermuda. One reason Jim and Steve were out there doing their gangsta thang is because they weren't needed to actually play on the song. And I'm sure that Al's band programmed the music because Chamillionaire did.

I know, it still felt odd to me. In any case, they shouldv'e done something.

Quit attacking people for stating their opinions. Saying why you disagree with someone is fine. But saying things like "That doesn't deserve a response" is just completely uncalled for. You need to be more respectful of others on this board.

Yeah, that response [or lack thereof] sorta flew in the face in all of the discussion that's been going on about respecting people's opinions and junk


For the millionth time, it's obvious Al was nervous, it showed in the performance. I highly doubt he will be as nervous by the time the tour rocks around, and we'll get an awesome show

I don't think Al was nervous. He used a common trick used by Hip-Hop/R&B sigers: A backup track. And I think it worked fine. Plus, He was singing most of the time.

I think he was extremely nervous. Probably people who are more casual fans or haven't been to the live shows didn't notice, but I picked up on lots of very small visual cues. In fact, if you check his myspace he even talks about how nervous he was.

It surprised me a bit because he's used to being in front of a live audience, but who knows what sort of pressure was being put on him behind the scenes or by his label.
