Not necessarily. While directing commercials is a professional gig, it's not "Weird Al" doing the directing, so it may be considered completely separate from what weirdal.com promotes.

If Bermuda doesn't let us know which commercials we see in the future were directed by Al, I hope The Mine website will.

That's really cool! I hope we can find out about the commercials somehow, too.

Thanks, Dave! :)

Very cool! It'll be fun to see what Al does with this! :)

(There are a couple of commercials right now that I really like. One I've been wanting to get on tape. It's for an automall and they offer a trunk monkey anti-theft auto retrieval system. It's really funny :) )

I agree that, unless it receives some kind of award or other significant recognition, it will not appear on the latest news page. I do hope that it at least appears somewhere in the archives. On the Mine webiste was a good suggestion too.

Just to be clear, I feel that way because of the approach weirdal.com has taken over the past few years, not because I don't think it belongs there. Weirdal.com is very selective in what it posts, not necessarily an approach I agree with, but I imagine Al and Bermuda have their reasons. I know it can be done. Penn and Teller do a good job of keeping their website and fans up to date about their projects and public appearances, no matter how significant, minor, or on short notice it is.

Even if it's not on weirdal.com, we'll probably find out about it anyway. This forum has some researchers that, when it comes to pertinacity in digging things up, are positively terrier-like.

Here are a couple of commercials that remind me of Al. They were on during The Cut and Monk today (hope he's not insulted if he had nothing to do with them):

Target back packs - it's a parody/song twist (funny)

Choice hotels - Johnny Cash song I've Been Everywhere plays and you see a family with the dad flipping signs that has the names of where they've been written on them (he follows along with the song lyrics)

Were they directed by Al? Don't know, could be :)

Have you seen any you think could have been done by Al?
