From the "I Never Thought Of It That Way Before" department:

Somebody at Cambridge"wrote QUOTE When Metallica (backed by the RIAA) successfully prosecuted the file-sharing site Napster, forcing it to be shut down, many parody artists reacted angrily, presumably reasoning that without Napster, there would be no chance for them to be mistaken for Weird Al Yankovic.

QUOTE Let's just hope it doesn't set a trend that ends with Toni \"Mickey\" Basil playing a single mom/tabloid journalist or Weird Al Yankovic as a New York City police detective who does stand-up comedy. Hey, wait, forget the stand-up bit, but Weird Al as a quirky Gotham crime-fighter...somebody get me a meeting at UPN, quick!

 I'm not so sure for UPN though, maybe the WB would take it. They do all those other cartoons. ;)

Oooo. Live-action. Naturally, there has to be stunt doubles if he's fighting crime.

Al as Batman? Hmmm... He'd only be the 103rd actor to play the role since 1989, but hey I think his turn was inevitable anyway.

Well, anything's possible. There's already talks of doing an updated "Greatest American Hero," based on the syndicated tongue-in-cheek comedy/action series starring William Katt.

Although, my vote is for Al to play Plastic Man.

More WAY surfing:

Amish interview. Maybe this should have been listed under the Subtle Things In Videos topic.

Al Pacino likes our Al. "And who could forget the Weird Al classic, UHF? “It’s a big cult film,” he laughs. “You can’t get the tapes. Weird Al is a bright guy, a really sweet guy.”

Gee, Roger. What'd he do? Run over you dog? The infamous Roger Ebert UHF review. Those Siskel and Ebert bums oughtta go home and just sit on their thumbs. (With apologies to the late Gene Siskel's family.)
