Damn spoilers.
That's it...cancel everything. Cancel the star, cancel the tour

So, if we can talk about it outside of spoiler tags now...there's gotta be a new polka, right? This is the first time (aside from the Hollywood Bowl) where he could do a full-blown polka without backing tracks! IIRC, he said in a reddit AMA that while he may not record any new medleys, there could be concert only polkas.

Does anyone have any rumors or guesses on what type of venues we'll see on the new tour?

I just wanna speculate on ticket prices. Aint gonna be cheap to haul an orchestra around.

I love Al.
I saw him in concert twice for the Mandatory Fun Tour and twice for his latest Vanity Tour.
I loved them both, but the Vanity Tour was by far my favorite.
I watched his concert at the Hollywood Bowl with a full orchestra on line. So, I wasn't actually there.
To be honest, I didn't see that it was something I'd be willing to pay extra for.
I love Al and his band, no need to add extra bells and whistles.

I doubt he'd bring his own orchestra around with him, because I've never known anyone who can just easily find an orchestraminnick27 wrote:I just wanna speculate on ticket prices. Aint gonna be cheap to haul an orchestra around.

I have a feeling he may do what many artists do and just "rent" local orchestras, as it's much cheaper, easier and it supports the local economy/people in a way additional to the obvious way of getting people to the theaters.
Trans-Siberian Orchestra does the same thing, renting a local orchestra to use with them, and with all of their pyrotecnics, large arena shows, full band, renting an orchestra, I've NEVER seen a ticket over $70.00 so I don't think the ticket prices will be much more than his previous tours, in fact, I'd be VERY surprised if I did see such a thing.
As for venue size, I'd imagine that they'd be the same size venues (or even the same EXACT venues) as the Mandatory Tour, or even the Alpocalypse tour. Not massive arena shows, but most of those theaters are big enough to hold a full orchestra. And also, I doubt he'll have a full philharmonic 80-150 person orchestra, as that's just not practical. I'm guessing an orchestra of 10-30 at the MOST.

I just realized, if they go the route of renting out an orchestra for each show, that makes the "different setlist every night" option totally feasible! Send the appropriate setlist to each orchestra, and those are the 15-18 songs they have to learn. Not trying to get hopes up, but just a thought I had.

Really excited for Strings Attached!
I saw two shows at the Hollywood Bowl with an orchestra, but that was an adaptation of the Mandatory Tour setlist. It will be cool to see what choices are made knowing from the outset that he will have this accompaniment. I would expect Jackson Park Express and Don't Download This Song at the very least. And yes, as Muppetboy said, there really should be a polka -- a Hamilton Polka perhaps.
I couldn't tell a dirt clod from a plate of caviar.
