Well, thank you for your kind words, Scottidog, but my husband has a different view of my fandom.

He thinks I'm "Beyond Completely Crazy". He usually twirls his index finger in little circles around his ear and crosses his eyes in the universal sign of insanity whenever I do Al stuff :lookround:

There! He's doing it again right now! See?

I suppose he doesn't really like all the Spatulas and Hawaiian shirts you've given him either... Is there hope for him, do you think? LOL.

I don't know how many of you noticed, but The Simpsons "jumped the shark" tonight (couch gag). This does not bode well for Al.

I didn't see the show. What did they do? (That would be funny

if they literally did that joke in the show :)) I sort of thought they did that a long time ago.

By my count they have done that joke in two different ways. Once they had a fake still frame of Homer doing such in a series of clips and images (I think it was the "Gump Roast" episode), and then more recently it was a couch gag (I think, yet again, it was first introduced on the 300th episode)....and since couch gags usually show up twice a season, well, there you are.

Thanks for the info, Greg :)

However, I must still display my enormous ignorance and ask..."What's

a 'couch joke'"?

:tellme:

The couch gag is what happens at the end of the opening titles when the family runs into the living room and rushes to the sofa. My favorite is when they rush in and are crushed by a giant foot -- a la Monty Python.

D'oh!

I get it now. Thanks El :)

I thought it was something Homer said while sitting on the couch.
