I have never heard of a modern vinyl release that didn't include digital downloads. That would be completely absurd, and I expect it to be included regardless of what an internet commenter said.

Same. I asked for proof, they just sent me this.

That's pretty ridiculous. I don't care so much about the albums, but it sure would be nice to have the rarities

Re: Squeeze Box - compleat Al box set coming November 24, 20
I am very surprised that I did not know about this until today, considering this was announced last February. I know, I only visit the forum for a few periods of time each year, but I still feel like I should have known about this sooner.
I wouldn't be surprised if the bonus disc included Headline News, Theme from Spy Hard, the original versions of a few songs (like My Bologna and Yoda), and the single versions of The Night Santa Went Crazy and UHF. I'll be surprised if it had unreleased parodies, and iffy about unreleased pre-1983 originals, but I feel Belvedere Cruising is a must, if only because it's the first Al song heard by the public (and it looks like that one's never even been included on a Dr. Demento Basement Tapes release).
Wouldn't it be cool if it also contained Polkamon, Al's two songs from The Simpsons, Patterns, The Ballad of Kent Marlowe, and Lousy Haircut? Or even if he could finally get You're Pitiful or the uncut Alternative Polka included?

That was released under Atlantic Records, wasn't it? Maybe they'll be lenient with this track, but they seem to still be upset with You're Pitiful.weird user wrote:Polkamon

... And the user in question deleted their comments, so this could be them deciding they didn't want to continue the charade.
I emailed support in the meantime. Let's see if I hear back.

I just got this response:
I am hopeful that this will be remedied sometime between now and November.
Hard to believe this is true. For $500+, you would think they could offer a code for a free download.Per the label and artist team: "There is no digital download offered on the box sets but remastered versions of all of the albums are available individually on iTunes."

I can think of a few that haven't. The most notable releases that I can think of are The Beatles vinyl re-releases, the recent Pink Floyd re-releases and Queen's recent re-releases for North America (the rest of the world got MP3's, at least with the box set). So, it is a possibility that Squeeze Box won't. Hopefully someone we can trust who is in the know will let us know for sure soon.TMBJon wrote:I have never heard of a modern vinyl release that didn't include digital downloads. One of the comment(I assume it's by a staff) says, there will be two shipments. One for the box, and the 2nd shipment with the bonus items.Yankopunk wrote: Another thing that's confusing is this: Squeeze Box releases in November. They say that all bonus items will be fulfilled by December 22. On my order completion page, it said to expect my order December 22. I wonder if this means all the sets themselves release in November, and then we'd all get a separate package in December with the bonus items (turntable mats, shirts, etc.)... or if you have to wait until December to get everything all at once if you ordered a special set (meaning that people who bought the no-frills editions get their sets first)? I guess we'll see what happens.

I'm putting off ordering until this gets resolved, or until we know for sure that it won't. If not, I might end up going with the CD option.TMBJon wrote:I just got this response:Hard to believe this is true.
