Re: Mandatory Tour Chatter
I can understand the no photo policy since people are paying hundreds for the meet and greet afterward. I would be ecstatic just to even get an autograph and a handshake! Though a photo would be nice too

Re: Mandatory Tour Chatter
You know what really grinds my gears? People in other threads saying a bunch of people waited for Al at the bus and he signed everything for them (Don't misunderstand, I'm happy for them) meanwhile I paid $260 and I will only get a per-selected poster signed. (Not the record I have no use for that I spent $30 on for him to sign, right before I found out that he only signs the poster.)
I'm glad that the people waiting get a chance to see him. But I paid... wayyy more than I should have (I'm in financial trouble now) and I can't even get what I want signed
(And I'm not annoyed with AL, I'm sure it wasn't his idea.)

Re: Mandatory Tour Chatter
You're not guaranteed multiple signatures by waiting at the bus. You're not even guaranteed a single signature. Nor are you guaranteed to even see Al. Sometimes you can't even see the buses for that matter.
I understand your frustration. It doesn't make sense to me either that you can't substitute another item for the poster, but those are the rules. I don't know if this is normal for every venue, but in Las Vegas, I heard 47 people had Mandatory Czar Experience packages. They do need to clear out of the venue as quickly as possible. If he starts signing multiple items (or doing lots of substitutions), it could take a while. Now multiply that by 100 shows and that's a lot of autographs already.
I did not purchase a Mandatory Czar Experience package, so I can only go by what I witnessed after the Las Vegas show (I had a backstage pass -- unrelated to Mandatory Czar Experience) and what I hear second hand from friends who purchased Mandatory Czar Experience packages for other shows, but the whole after show experience for Al this tour is very scripted and produced. Al was being rushed from one obligation to another and had an assistant telling him where to go.

The Mandatory Czar Experience package is clear on what it includes. Among other things, you are guaranteed a "Meet and greet with Weird Al" and a "Personally Autographed Limited Edition Mandatory World Tour Poster" which is what you got. It doesn't say you can substitute another item for your autographed poster, and it doesn't say that you can get multiple autographs. The Mandatory Czar Experience $260 per ticket package – VIP1 • One (1) Premium Reserved ticket in the first five rows • Meet and greet with Weird Al • Invitation to a pre-show party at the Mandatory Lounge including a cash bar* • Personally Autographed Limited Edition Mandatory World Tour Poster • Complete Set of Weird Al Trading Cards (including brand new cards from Mandatory Fun – over 125 cards in all!) • Additional exclusive Weird Al merchandise gift • On-site concert concierge *Local Liquor Laws Apply

Oh, I wouldn't have asked for multiple things, but you are right. I'm sorry.Elvis wrote:You're not guaranteed multiple signatures by waiting at the bus. You're not even guaranteed a single signature. Nor are you guaranteed to even see Al. Sometimes you can't even see the buses for that matter.

Re: Mandatory Tour Chatter
After I may or may not have watched some Tacky footage that may or may not have been from last night's show, I may or may not have had the thought that I'm hoping someone is collecting this Tacky footage after each show for some kind of Best Of later on
You have quickly thought up such matchless phrase?

Seeking out video of each new Tacky performance may or may not be a daily habit of mine. A Best Of would be amazing.

I may or may not have posted a video of the May 28th Indianapolis
Tacky performance
Al may have started the song in front of my car and he may have bumped into me
in the theater as I had an aisle seat !

Re: Mandatory Tour Chatter
I've got a question..
What is the "Lounge party" all about? I mean, will Al be there?
I'm sure I can't afford the Czar tickets, but maybe I could just buy a "normal" VIP ticket..
Or maybe just wait for him at the bus

Extended warranty? How can I lose?

Oh wait, I just read all those replies...
Anyway, I hope they'll allow me to even take a picture, or get a CD signed.
Man, I'm travelling from Spain to Belgium!
