Re: Mandatory Tour Chatter
I watched some of the YouTube clips from the Tulsa show and noticed one major difference from the show in Las Vegas:
During Dare To Be Stupid, it looks like Tulsa had a totally different lighting scheme. Al and the band almost appear to be glowing in the dark. In Vegas, they were lit the traditional way. Can anyone who attended the Tulsa show confirm that this was not just a weird camera thing? Were they really glowing in the dark? It looked really awesome, so I'm sorry I missed it!

Re: Mandatory Tour Chatter
I have still yet to check out a single uploaded video so far from the shows that have happened. Contemplating just letting everything he does on stage be a surprise next to knowing the setlist and stuff.
What a racket they're makin', Jack, they keep me up at night playin' their electric guitars!!

Jon: Al and the band were illuminated in green during Dare To Be Stupid, at least in Tulsa.

I don't really see the point in letting the concert be a "surprise", I mean, it's a concert, like any band he plays his usual standards and mixes in some tracks from the new album, it's no big mystery.

The order of the songs and the video clips. Even what old songs are played. I have no will power when it comes to spoilers, I always looked at them. But the first show of the Internet Leaks tour was amazing. I had no idea what was next, it was new and fun

You were there at Rehoboth Beach in 2010 too? Oh man, I absolutely loved that show. Hearing Polka Face for the very first time was truly magical as I had no idea it was coming and it was live! Plus I loved being genuinely surprised by some of the song decisions - Franks 2000" TV and DTBS come to mind.minnick27 wrote:The order of the songs and the video clips. That said, I immediately spoiled the Mandatory Tour set list for myself as it was being live tweeted. But I definitely understand the appeal of going in blindly - I'm restraining myself from listening to the Unplugged medley until I see the Baltimore show on June 13!

If I was planning to go to a concert I would still watch spoilers, because the very fact of going would cause me nearly lethal levels of anticipation, so I definitely wouldn't need more of it

To me there's a different experience from seeing something live in person versus seeing something live recorded.spmahn wrote:I don't really see the point in letting the concert be a "surprise", I mean, it's a concert, like any band he plays his usual standards and mixes in some tracks from the new album, it's no big mystery.
