It's nice to see Al's label giving him some love, especially since it seems like there's been some tension between Al and the label. It's good that they seem to be parting on good terms.

RCA is owned by Sony. According to the Amazon page for Mandatory Fun, Al is on RCA.

I listened to a larger part of the audio wondering how young Al sounds until I realised it was 1985, not 2012 - American dates make no sense

I thought the only difference was month/day/year vs day/month/year. I never knew there was a third option: year/month/day.

I think that's even screwier. Besides, wouldn't the 85 part give away the year?

Also, I think we're more accustomed to what we're taught, so anything different seems wrong.

We use year/month/day, eg. 2015-01-04, but I'm fine with day/month/year too - smallest to largest or largest to smallest, it's still some sort of logical order.

I only noticed 85 when the interviewer mentioned 86 and I looked closer to a date
