So, we are merely 1 week away from the appearance...what do you guys think is the best bet on what he will perform? Wishful me says Mission Statement, mostly because of Bermuda's "not impossible to pull off" statement, but realistically, I would think maybe LCTF.

I agree LCTF is likely - its subject is quite appropiate for a celebrity talk show, but it isn't as obvious as a parody (unless it's "Inactive", that would be very unexpectedMuppetboy09 wrote:Wishful me says Mission Statement, mostly because of Bermuda's "not impossible to pull off" statement, but realistically, I would think maybe LCTF.

i honestly cannot see them performing an original song in place of a parody. when people see Weird Al is performing, the song must be instantly recognizable to a general audience. unless of course they are assuming that no one watches the Craig Ferguson show and they might as well play one for the true fans.

If the song is funny, general audience should be able enjoy it even if they didn't know either the original material or even Al himselfWell, Well, Well wrote:i honestly cannot see them performing an original song in place of a parody. when people see Weird Al is performing, the song must be instantly recognizable to a general audience. unless of course they are assuming that no one watches the Craig Ferguson show and they might as well play one for the true fans.

If Al can play CNR on Jimmy Fallon, there's no reason he can't perform "Lame Claim To Fame" or (better yet) "First World Problems" on Craig Ferguson.

Al has much better songs to choose from on Mandatory Fun than he did with the Internet leaks, though. CNR was easily the best track from that bunch, and while the originals on MF are great, it would be a mistake not to play Word Crimes or Foil or even Inactive.

I don't think Word Crimes is much of live performance material. Have you heard that demo Jarrett Heather shared? It's terrible, Al hardly pulls of those high pitch parts.Well, Well, Well wrote:Al has much better songs to choose from on Mandatory Fun than he did with the Internet leaks, though. You also have to keep in mind that was only a demo, and if he were to practice it, he could make it sound a lot better.
