Gosh, I can't believe the host kept failing to understand how Al's collaborations on video production worked X* . I'm pretty sure at 2:17 it was Al's "never mind, I give up" face

Yeah, I think Stewart Varney gets the award for most clueless interviewer so far this cycle.

The funny thing about Varney's misunderstanding of the way the video collaborations work is that it completely undermines the point he was making about Time Warner. I guess it really should come as no surprise that a Fox pundit would have a hard time understanding something that cut against their pre-determined narrative, right?

Any excuse to turn a topic about Al into a political point, right Jon.

Not any excuse, just cases where he goes on a news show and discusses economics!

I agree that Varney was awful, but I enjoyed the interview because of how funny Al was. I especially liked the whole "king of content" exchange.
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

I hope people don't think this is making a political point in any way, but it directly ties into today's interview with Al.

This news story was just broken by Jake Tapper at ABC this afternoon:
Rupert Murdoch's 21st Century Fox made an offer to buy Time Warner in June, and Time Warner gave a firm answer: No.

Even so, news of the proposal on Wednesday sent the stock of Time Warner soaring 15%.

Such a deal would be massive: the initial bid was $80 billion. That would value Time Warner at $85 a share, 20% higher than Time Warner has been trading.
Kind of puts Varney's badmouthing of Time Warner into perspective, doesn't it?

Yeah, Al was good there. He's better at improvising than he gives himself credit for.

Big difference between improvising against comedians vs a cable news pundit!! I think Al is afraid he would not look as funny as the other comedians, but against this d-bag? No problem!
