Re: Album 14 Speculation :3
I'd like to see Al try another 2-in-1 parody as well. There may be plenty of other subjects for one besides Timberlake, Beyonce and Kanye though that we're not even considering. The real question is what two specific songs by said artists would sound good together because I can't imagine any at the moment. The obvious ones for Beyonce right now might be "Drunk In Love" and "Partition", but I don't know how that one might go. It could go anyway with Timberlake because he released two albums in one year but the ones I could see Al using together most easily would be "Suit and Tie" and "Take Back The Night". It's actually too bad Al didn't wait until this album to parody Taylor Swift because a song that combines the first two verses and chorus of "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" with the final bridge and chorus of "I Knew You Were Trouble" could've sounded better than another trite "You Belong With Me" parody.

I'd love to see a country parody on this album, especially considering how it's been sort of "hip" in the past year or so. Luke Bryan, in particular, is almost inescapable.

As a Nashvillian, I would love to see the current state of country music be torn to shreds, but none of the men in today's country deserve the honor of an Al parody.Big Spoon wrote:I'd love to see a country parody on this album, especially considering how it's been sort of "hip" in the past year or so. Taylor Swift may not be Michael Jackson, but if he's already done something once, I don't understand why he couldn't do it again. Why can't he parody her again?Killingsworth wrote:It's actually too bad Al didn't wait until this album to parody Taylor Swift because a song that combines the first two verses and chorus of "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" with the final bridge and chorus of "I Knew You Were Trouble" could've sounded better than another trite "You Belong With Me" parody.

Along these same lines, how about another "multiple-premise" parody a'la A Complicated Song? My first thought was that Royals might be a good candidate for something like that, until I realized not that many words rhyme with "Royals".Killingsworth wrote:I'd like to see Al try another 2-in-1 parody as well.

I'm thinking if Al did a Royals parody, he'd have to keep it to just one idea/premise and rely more on "near rhymes" rather than actual rhymes.
Also, I think Al only parodying every artist onec is just his personal rule. I think he may have just made it a point after the Snack All Night/ODTE fiasco after Al discovered he could have an actual career and not just be known as riding the coattails of one specific artist. It may just be something he tries to consciously avoid no matter what parody ideas come to him.

Should have clarified that no words that would make for a good parody rhyme with "royals".quantumerror wrote:Boils, coils, foils, oils, soils, spoils, toilsmrmeadows wrote:not that many words rhyme with "Royals".
(And the best one, "boils", was already made into a--lame--parody.)

Well, since Chris is apparently no longer doing his BBC radio show Al could turn his Lorde parody into a loving tribute to DJ moyles. I'm sure such a song could be quite popular in England at least. Good ear, bermuda!bermuda wrote:DJ Chris Moyles?
