Depending on our moving situation, I may be able to swing some West Coast dates next year. My dad is in Washington so it would be pretty easy to access them this year, but next year he might be relocated.

Still, I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed for a while; hopefully before too long I'll have a definite answer.

I'm going to the Pantages/Tacoma concert -hope to meet up with another Washington Al fan for the first time! Yvette J. is going to this show is well. I just realized that I have never seen Al in a venue other than a fair or outdoor amphitheater--this will be a new experience. I hope to get a few good pics being close up this time!!

My son and I had a great time seeing AL this evening. This was my tenth show and my 15yo son's fifth Al concert. We are accustomed to sitting somewhere in the first 5 rows but tickets were a lot more expensive than the fair shows ($36 for the "cheap" seats), so we sat in the last row - two chairs from the sound guys. Seats were great and it was really neat seeing the entire show and the fans from that perspective. The show was the same as last year except for a few fresh changes in the videos they show during the costume changes. One of the best parts of NOT sitting in the front is that when you sit in the back with the "not so crazed" Al fans, you get to experience the joy of people either seeing Al for the first time or hearing a song for the first time. Hysterics ensued as the concert goers around us experienced Wanna B Ur Lover ( and many others) for the first time. I wasn't expecting him to unbutton his shirt all the way down and wipe his hand up and down his chest before "blessing" the lucky concert-goers in the front row. I had read in another post that Al's theatrics during Craigslist were great and I agree. His gyrating and swinging around of the microphone stand were very high-energy and the crowd seemed very pleased. He referred to the Tully's on 9th and Broadway which was right down the street (or was it next door?) to the venue. Some "Super-fans" in the front brought lightsabers and spelled out "AL" with them during the beginning of the encore which was pretty cool. I love seeing Al get a standing ovation at the end of his concerts-those guys deserve it everytime and this time was no exception. Musically, the band is at the top of their game.

After the concert, we hung out to see if we could get Al or any of the band members to sign my son's copy of Weird Al: The Book. Steve Jay came out and talked with us and a few other fans and was nice enough to sign my son's book. There were about 10 people who had backstage passes - we, unfortunately did not. Once they went back to their "special time with Al", we decided to go across the street and hang out by the bus. On the way, we stopped in the lobby to get a picture with Darth and one of the stormtroopers. We were by ourselves by the bus for awhile and then one or two couples came over to wait with us. Steve Jay recognized us and came over to talk again. My son and I are both named Steve so I made the comment that we could form an All-Steve band and call ourselves Stevo which I don't think anyone else thought it was as funny as I thought it was. Jim and Reuben came out and talked with us, signed my son's book, and even alowed me to take some pictures. They were in a big rush and I could tell the bus driver was really antsy. Bermuda went right on the bus and Al looked over at us and smiled but it was obvious that he didn't have time to do anything more. About 10 seconds after the door closed, the bus was pulling away from the curb. Peanut Butter milkshakes from Sonic on the way home rounded out our Father/son evening with AL.
