Well, I've finally uncovered the true story behind what was going on in this picture Al tweeted. Our own Ludo Vica RT'd this to my attention and it also turned up in the "Linkstorm" section of CRACKED.
Today, the first episode of the new webseries "The ArScheerio Paul show" debuted on the "Buh" YouTube channel. The premise for this series is that Al's close personal friend Paul Scheer ever so faithfully "recreates" actual interviews that occurred on "The Arsenio Hall Show" as Arsenio. This is the first episode featuring Will Arnett channeling Bill Clinton in his famous sax-playing appearance.
This does look great! I don't know when we can expect more episodes, but I still can't wait for Al's appearance. I'm still going with my original guess that Al is playing Edward James Olmos (possibly from an interview where he was promoting "Stand And Deliver"). Unfortunately, I can't find such a clip on YouTube at the moment...so I could be wrong. Maybe this is that "thing" he did with "some guys" he was tweeting about.
What do you guys think?

I believe he prefers to be called Eddie Jimmy Olmos.Killingsworth wrote:I'm still going with my original guess that Al is playing Edward James Olmos

Killingsworth, I almost flagged your post as spam because it has the exact format of all the spambots who have been posting here lately.

Yeah, but I'll bet it's still makes the exact same amount of sense as spam (if not more) when you read it.

Re: The Al-Sheerio Paul Show
Well, Al's appearance in this web series has finally been posted. Alison Brie (Community, Mad Men) plays Madonna, Adam Pally (Happy Endings) plays Rosie O'Donnell and Al plays Madonna's father. This was based on an interview where they were promoting "A League Of Their Own".It must have been fun for Al working with such a talented group. Not having seen the original interview, Al's performance feels like a cross between his Mark Gormley bit on Web Soup in '09 and his character from the AOL One To One interview two years ago.
Interestingly enough, for some episodes they have "scripted" versions which are exactly faithful to the original and "improv" versions which follow the script, but are a bit looser. I was surprised they put up an "improv" version of this since Al is not known for improv skills, but then I realized its' not as much improv as it is playing off everyone else's jokes. Al only added a couple of lines not form the script, but he does provide for a great "improvised" moment toward the end without really saying much of anything, so it's worth checking out.
Anyway, for those interested here is the scripted version and here is the improv version. Enjoy1
