Al on Overview with Rick Overton

You have to get it on iTunes:

This was a pretty good interview. Rick is a fan and it showed in the interview. One tidbit: it looks like Al is taking 2014 off for touring. That means it will be a long time before I see a concert again. Boo!

Yeah, and the number of years Nina will be home & wanting to spend time with parents is finite.

This would seem to indicate that we won't see a new album until 2015, but I suppose he could release it in 2014 and push the tour back. Either way, I completely understand the decision.
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

I was interested to hear they'll be touring for 12 weeks in 2013. Now to speculate on where/when those 12 weeks will be! (we know some of it already).

Was excited that he brought up being interested in doing a musical (I assume he'd want to both write it and star in it, although I've never really heard him elaborate on what his particular aspirations are... maybe he just wants an offer...)

I hope the TV show pitching goes well! I wonder what it is.

Declaring arbitrarily that any part of a week counts as a touring week, we have 3 weeks in April accounted for, 3 weeks in June and a week in July so far.

I wonder if Australia is going to be included in the 2013 calendar year. I'm guessing yes.

In Kimo's recent Slack Key newsletter, he said, "We've been recording and shooting videos with "Weird Al" Yankovic for a new CD and will be touring with him in April, June and July."

That's pretty exciting, if it means live-action videos for originals!
