Is AL-TV returning or did you find a nice interview? Just tell the folks here.

Al for American Idol judge?

Post by babadavis1 »

With the departures of Steven Tyler and JLo, I believe there's now room for a guy with 30+ years of pop music experience who could bring warmth, humor, and integrity to the judge's table. Nobody knows how to take a song and make it their own better than Al. But would Al want to fit it into his schedule? I'd love to see it myself. Better than the SuperBowl!

I would love to see this too, I just dont see it ever happening. They want big names for this, Al does not fit into this category. Even though he has an ear for the music business, he would still be seen as a joke

Have any judges on American Idol not been seen as a joke?

Regardless of whatever Al would be able to add to "Idol", if Al turned down chances to participate in reality shows in search of the next big parodist to take his place I don't see any reason why he would do basically the same show but with unintentionally funny cover songs.

I don't know why people want Al on these cheesy reality shows anyway. Considering how people view most celebs who go on these shows combined with the fact that lots of people think Al went away in the 90's (and other things of this nature) why would Al subject himself to it?

Yeah, Al's no fan of reality TV and I don't think it would do him any good. He could be serious and insightful and all that excellent stuff, and people would still be expecting him to be a wacked-out relic of the 80's.

I see the whole show as a joke, so Al should fit in perfectly :lookaround:
