Hey, great interview, Dave! I was listening on the radio on my commute to work. I think you communicated the problems we've been facing very effectively.
It sounds like Kevin & Bean are on board to help out any way they can, but I'm wondering if there is anything else that can be done aside from occasionally mentioning it on their show. Raising awareness is key, especially in the LA area. At any rate, having this discussion air just after 9am on a Monday certainly doesn't hurt the effort.

I heard the interview today. Great job, Dave! Which one was it, Kevin or Bean who said he'd wear a Weird Al's Star Fund shirt every day until Al gets his star?? That was great! I hope both Kevin and Bean buy merch from the site. That'd be awesome! Let's hope they keep spreading the word about the Star Fund.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

Thank you. We need to figure out the best way to work with them. I'm glad they brought up what a black box the whole nomination process is. Vikki and I are banging our heads on the wall each year trying to figure out what's appropriate and what's not appropriate. Every year it's a new approach. Hopefully we can work together with them on something though. Not sure who it was who wanted the t-shirt. Maybe someone else knows.

Anyway, the interview is up on the website. Thanks Vikki!

You're welcome.

I hope the one who said that actually does buy a star fund t-shirt--then we'll know!

It was right after the 9 hour. So, assuming their show starts at 6, it should be around the 3rd hour.

Anyway, great interview Dave. Didn't understand why they said you sounded like a beaten broski. Was also hoping that they might point out anything else we could do, but I guess there isn't much. Just hope next year will be here soon.

I happened to be listening to KROQ this morning, and they were complaining about radio personality Ellen K getting her own star. Both Kevin and Bean repeatedly said, "Before Weird Al?!?!?" And they kept making comments like, "Did Ellen K write Fat? White & Nerdy? Eat It? I don't think so." Then they proceeded to make fun of Ellen K for a while, and then one of them (hard to tell them apart) said something like, "It's just too bad because Weird Al won't be around forever."

HAHA, seriously. Although I bet he'll outlive all of them and most likely ALL of us! So we got that to look forward to.
What a racket they're makin', Jack, they keep me up at night playin' their electric guitars!!

I'm sure Al will outlive whoever is making the musician picks for the WOF. So we got that to look forward to.

That was mean of me, wasn't it.
