Sorry I'll miss you, Kathy. I know you won't be able to come to this show.

Went to the Detroit Tigers game with a $5 ticket earlier in the day. Then, walked across the street to the Fox Theater.

What a beautiful theater! From the marquee to the ornaments inside, this was just a wonderful place to see a concert.

You Make Me was performed again tonight. The coffee shop was Biggby Coffee on Woodward Ave. There was a line flub in the polka, and a couple in CNR. The mic faded out a bit in Craigslist. They added in the clip of Scooby Doo, Batman, and Weird Al from The Brave and The Bold before the Antonio Bandares FTF Interview.

Perfectionist that Al is, I wonder how he feels about our keeping a running tally of line flubs and technical problems? (Don't jump on me; I'm a newbie!) In Minneapolis (and correct me if I'm clueless about this, Jeremy) Al flubbed one line (I don't even remember what song it was in). Big deal. The audience kept singing along and he came back in on the next line. To me (remember, this was my first Al concert) it just seemed like it was all part of the fun. Maybe line flubs at a concert are like occasional lumps in mashed potatoes: proof that it's real.

My 27th post -- woo-hoo!

I had a great time at the concert with my friend Kari! We were in the 2nd row, on Steve's side. Lots of eye contact with Steve, and even a thumbs up because I was singing along. ^_^
Apparently, I'd look like Venus de Milo if you just cut off my arms, and I'm the bomb! We got drenched with the SNL water. We were grateful, because it was warm in that theatre. Honestly, I didn't even notice any flubs, because I was too busy having a great time. We had Chewbacca and R2D2 for The Saga Begins. Both Kari and I took pictures. Missed a few photo ops near the beginning of the show, because Kari had to free up some space on my card after I found out it was full after only taking like 5 pics. (I didn't bring my glasses, and couldn't see to do it myself). I was able to get 44 fairly good pictures. You can see them here - Fox Theatre photos Kari doesn't have internet because she just moved, so she is going to her parents house tomorrow to upload her pics. Can't wait to see! Went backstage after the show. Jon was the first person I saw. He hugged me, and gave me a kiss on the cheek. :inlove: I told him about how Martin bought my tickets. Sorry, Martin, but Jon didn't recognize your screenname. After talking to Jon for a bit, we waited, and then we got to see Al. I explained to Al about how Martin gve me the tickets because of my recent losses, and upon hearing the story, he said "Let's have a group hug!". (Again, sorry, Martin, but Al didn't recognize your screenname, either, but was impressed that you were from The Netherlands.) Kari and I stood on either side of Al, and he gave us both a squeeze. So sweet! I made chocolates for him. Didn't take a pic, but they were like these - Summer chocolates
I also gave him and Oreo tee, like this one - Oreo tee and 100th anniversary sunglasses, like these - 100th sunglasses
When he saw the sunglasses, he said "I thought these were for my 100th birthday". I said, "No, Oreos are 100". He said "It all makes sense now". HAHA! The reason I had the tee and sunglasses is, I won a contest that Oreo had online, and got 2 of the shirts and two pair of the sunglasses. I thought it'd be fun to give Al the extras. After I gave Al his pressies, Kari went over by him, and I struggled, trying to use her phone. I had it facing the wrong way. Kari said "You're taking a picture of yourself!" (I really didn't, and made the excuse that I'm not well). I can't believe I said that. I turned the phone around, and snapped the pic. Kari said she liked it. Then she took a pic of me with Al. I'm looking forward to seeing it. We moved along and saw Jim. He signed this little sort of ad card about his music for me. - Jim's ad card After we talked to Jim, we moved along, and saw Jon talking to some people. We decided it was time to go. We started heading out, and Jon followed us, and said "What, you're leaving without saying goodbye?" He gave me another hug and another kiss on the cheek. We talked a bit more, then we left. Thank you again, Martin, for thinking of me. Your thoughtful gift made me very happy!

*Just want to add, I met Charlie Alvarez, who I met once before back in 2007, and his wife, Jenni, who I had not met yet, before the show. We talked afterward as well. Good to see you again, Charlie, and nice to finally meet you, Jenni. Saw Fred backstage, but didn't see her before then. Good to see you again, Fred.

Love that little jab there Patti. How can some of you not think that I have a great time at these concerts? Really? I tourchase the whole country. I think that I enjoy it.

And that wasn't pointed at you at all, AWTY. I can understand your point, but I think that pointing out different details of the concert that don't always happen are needed. It's no big deal, and I'm not being critical. It's just something interesting, and different about each show. Of course, it's what makes it real.

Sheesh, someone's a little overly sensitive today. :P
To me, that didn't sound like a jab at all. I totally understand what Patti was getting at; sometimes I notice little flubs at concerts and sometimes I don't. It doesn't mean I'm enjoying the concert any more or less than anyone else. We all enjoy concerts in our own way.

Personally, I enjoy reading Jeremy's thorough reviews, even if I didn't notice everything that he noticed.

Jeremy, I was not making a jab at you at all. I just meant I was having so much fun, I wasn't paying as much attention to details. I know you enjoy going to shows. That's why you tourchase. Sorry if it came off like a jab.

Ah, ok, sorry Patti. I can understand that. I think I am just a little over-sensitive to that, going off of Fred's intentional jab (on the 4th page of Primm, NV) the other day that I just go to look for mistakes.

Its not hard to see, Jeremy goes to a whack of shows, and he's seen the set so many times that its more fun for him to just pick out the little things like "line flubs" than to not mention anything at all. I like hearing stuff like that, its not to mention the band or Al messed up, its just to say, thats the only thing that was different, besides the venue, or the alternate song. I always like reading his reviews.
What a racket they're makin', Jack, they keep me up at night playin' their electric guitars!!
