Well it isn't. Adventure Time is a bit continuity driven and I'd imagine that episode wouldn't make a lot of sense to people who hadn't been watching it.
I'm a huge fan of the show itself. This wasn't a thing where I flipped out over Weird Al being on a cartoon and decided to watch it. I would have seen the episode anyway.
