I personally enjoyed Al's part--I can't help but think this will be incorporated into the live show during a costume change.

I think it's just really impressive that they tapped Al to play a guy half his age. Even if the guy he's playing is himself. :D

Al's cameo was great, but I liked the overall Weird Al arc of the end, especially the fact that Ted's next girlfriend got together with him solely because they're both Weird Al fans. We'll see where that goes. Loved the "I Think I'm A Clone Now" joke. That's clearly someone who's a closet Weird Al fan writing these lines because I've definitely had that experience with other people when I find out they love Weird Al too.
And the initial joke about not being able to find someone to see a Weird Al concert with was hilarious as well. As far as Weird Al jokes on TV shows go, this ranks among the best of them.

As a whole this wasn't one of the best HIMYM episodes ever, but for those who'd never tuned in before it's worth mentioning the characters are supposed to be douchebags...

CBS just uploaded Al's scene OFFICIALLY (and in HD), thus decreasing the risk that it will be removed from YouTube by lawyers.

It was interesting to see the Back To The Future effect of Al dressing up as his younger self. Comparing it to, say, this clip, without the distraction of the mustache-and-glasses discrepancy, is a great way to notice specific physical attributes that have changed in 26 years - he's gained a bit of weight, and his nose also seems to have grown an inch or two longer. If I may nitpick (and you know I may) Al's wig was much too long for the era. It looked MUCH more like mid-'90s Al hair than mid-'80s Al hair. Also...who the hell is Vinny? They got the recording date right, but not the name of Al's engineer? (Not that I could've perfectly used a sound byte of Al screaming "Tony, start recording" for a web series or album or anything...why even bring it up? What?)

My mom actually called me during class (luckily my phone was on vibrate) and left me a voice mail telling me this was on. Thanks for uploading just the Al parts to Youtube so I could see them without having to watch the whole show. Al's acting was brilliant (despite his wig being a bit too long). My mom actually said his "acting" when he was reading Ted's letter was similar to the face he made when he posed for a photo with me.

 That was a great clip. I was definitely impressed by the "I Think I'm a Clone Now" reference.
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

The show is supposed to be in 2030? Never knew that.

That last part when he was making all those Al joke refrences was my favorite part. When i first started watching and I saw that it would be showing all the characters parents I thought Al was going to be someone's dad(which would possibly give him a reoccurring role) but once all the Al talk started I knew it would be something else. I thought maybe Al would be flashing back to something himself

I imagine if they couldn't get Al to do that spot you would have seen Ted alone in a theatre with Al's music playing

An inch or TWO? He's Weird Al, not Pinocchio Al!

Yeah, I suppose he's gained a bit of weight, but if he still weighed what he did in his 20's, it would not be a healthy look. He's still well on the slender side for his height.

No, just the narration takes place in the future, when Ted is telling the story to his kids. Aside from a few flash forwards every now and then, the story always takes place in the present year.

Am I the only one who found the segment about no one wanting to go to a Weird Al concert with Ted, and then finding two fellow Weird Al fans, actually funnier than the scene that had Al in it?
